What to do about swollen tongue with teethmarks

The last week my tongue has felt enlarged and there are teeth marks on the side of it. It literally feels like it is too big for my mouth. What are the proper steps to diagnose and possibly reverse such symptoms?

I follow a Perfect Health Diet(Paul Jaminet) and have been for 2 years and never had these problems before.

I also have the feeling of a "lump in the throat" that has been going on for 4 weeks and i have a lot of anxiety over that too. :P

But the docs should have noticed something like that when they examined me? Also they they checked levels of TSH

Find one, give them money, hope your tongue swelling decreases on its own, because that "doctor" is going to do jack shit for you.

also, a lump in the throat can mean a swollen thryoid- which can mean hypo or hyper

You should state that in your original post. Still stand by my recommendation to see a doctor, you provide zero information so who the hell knows what's wrong with you. Not everything ties back to diet!

This ain't general malaise as you'll see around here. This is my tongue is swelling so much that I'm chomping down on it. I don't see how this isn't serious enough to merit a doctor's attention. You've become quite jaded.

True. They are good at more acute stuff like gun shot wounds and heart attacks, not the chronic non acute preventative stuff..

I have to say, as responsible as it makes you sound, I get really annoyed by all the "go to the doctor" recommendations I read here. Of all people, members of this forum must know that doctors are very rarely helpful. This poor guy already wasted his time with the doctor and is seeking enlightened advice.

I find the doctors helpful in about 10% of cases. I hope I'm underestimating because they make way too much money and spend way too much time in school eating our tax dollars and wracking up debt.

Do you have a nearby ND (Naturopathic Doctor) you can see?

could be anything i guess,

however, it is purported as a symptom of hypothyroidism by some, known as a scalloped tongue (swollen as well).

If your tongue is swollen, go to a doctor, don't waste time talking to the internet rabble.
