Stopping a course of antibiotics early?

I've been suffering from an increasingly painful throat infection for the past few days. Three days ago I saw a doctor who performed a rapid strep test, which came back negative. After examining me he told me the infection seemed viral. Yesterday the pain became excruciating and I went back to the doctor's office. This second doctor put me on a 10-day course of amoxicillin even though she could not definitively tell me whether or not the infection was bacterial. In my desperate state, I took the first dose in the office. She also gave me steroids to reduce swelling. This morning the pain is not so excruciating and I am doubting that this infection is bacterial at all.

My question is, would there be any harm in discontinuining the antibiotics? I was very distraught to have started them at all. Thanks!
