Post-pneumonia recovery suggestions?

So I came down with pneumonia (on my birthday!) a few weeks ago. Had a fever for a week, finally went to the doc and the x-ray confirmed her thoughts of pneumonia. She put me on doxycycline right away (which broke the fever within six hours), but after two days I still wasn't feeling any different, so she put me on amoxicillin as well. I finally started to heal, and I'm now almost back to normal. I do feel, however, that I've totally wrecked my gut health because of all the antibiotics and I was also taking NSAIDS on a very regular basis for two weeks. I hate the things, and haven't taken even one tylenol for the past few years, but with a fever like this, I was trying anything to try and feel better. I've never been sick like this in my life.

Anyway, my question is as follows. What should I do to try and restore my gut health? I went out and bought a probiotic, and am back to following a pretty strict paleo diet (which for me includes dairy, especially since I lost 10lbs while I was sick). I'm a CrossFit coach, and am lifting heavy to put the weight back on, as well as staying away from any conditioning for now. I also feel like my immune system isn't very strong right now, so I'm megadosing vitamin C. Good or bad idea? What would y'all recommend? Thanks in advance!

BHC~ Sure! I generally recommend Mag Citrate if constipation is an issue. Post-antibiotics, I speculate that the other forms may be more gut-friendly. Glad the D gems are woking for you :)

Dragonfly...Do you like the Now Food Magnesium Citrate for this too? Would that work? Also...really enjoying the Carlson's Solar Gems D3.

Ouch! Pneumonia is a major drag...

Second the fermented foods & bone broth.

Get your Vitamin D3 level tested & in the meantime supplement with 10,000 IUs of D3 to give your immune system a chance to recover.

Get lots of sleep! Add in 400-600 Magnesium Glycinate or Malate supplement at night (also a co-factor for D3) to help you sleep deeply.

Fermented foods and bone broth! Those will help your body repair itself.
