GAPS seems to be aimed at some highly specific issues but I'm drawn to it for others. Before I dig deeper into it and buy the book, I wanted to get some critical feedback from you PaleoHackers.
I've struggled with indigestion and chronic constipation for the better part of my life. Also, ADHD (almost gone on Paleo) and occasional fatigue (probably a normal thing but I don't like it). Paleo eating has been a real boon and I feel better than ever. My digestion is improved and I may finally get off the ADHD meds, but I feel there's still room for improvement.
Just coming off yet another course of antibiotics (prescribed after oral surgery) and I'm considering GAPS or something like it to rehabilitate my already weak gut flora. As a short-term treatment with potential long-term benefits, is it something I should waste a year or more of my life pursuing?

It's not letting me comment so my response goes here. Not exactly an active thread anyway...
I've lacked exercise much of my life. The past 2-3 years have been of particular concern. I am actively pursuing a better routine but it's easy for me to make the same excuses many overweight people make: where's the time? The fact that I've never been overweight makes it easy to dismiss the need to "burn calories" but getting exercise is still very important.
Given that a recent, moderate increase in exercise coincides with a great change in diet, it is hard to separate the results. However, I agree and will continue to improve my physical routine. We're moving again in 3 months and I'm hoping the new apartment will be close to hiking paths and include a quality fitness center so I don't have to contemplate a gym membership.
Methodician, you post quite a number of subjects pondering complex/advanced diet subjects, in order to try to solve issues with your health, but I think you never mention a very important source of health: exercice.
Get moving. Swim. Run. Lift weights. Walk. Try this: get 3 real hours of exercice per week, enough sleep, and apply basic principles of paleo eating. That's it.
If you feel the same after a month or so, go ahead and buy the GAPS book.
