Started avoiding aluminum and suddenly feel awful! Whats going on here?

So after reading some articles about the possible health dangers of aluminum, I decided it was worth trying to reduce the aluminum I'm exposed to. I've suffered from anxiety attacks for a long time and looking for something new to try. I started using an aluminum free deodorant and I haven't cooked with foil or eaten from aluminum cans, in the past few days. Today I'm really feeling off: anxiety is up, I arrived at class at the wrong time by accident, and having brain fog, also I was really gassy (sorry tmi lol). Are these some kind of detox symptoms? I'm really not sure what to think!!

Don't expect everything from me. Go search, find, read instead of scoffing with serious problems.

Yea, srs though if you aren't already lining your walls and windows with aluminum to keep out the EMFs then you probably should be..

Yes, estrogen deficiency causes late-to-class-itis, that's why guys are often late to or skipping class while women are more punctual to classes and skip less.

Well, I recall somebody asking here if using Al foil on windows for blackout shade was a bad idea because the sun might vaporize the Al…

Hahaha, I just find it funny think it might be unrelated… but then you're back to your normal self by the end… questioning yourself… countdown until you post about aluminium? Mere days I imagine.

To go off on a tangent:

What would be the downsides of aluminum antiperspirants if the aluminum particle is too big to get through the skin?

And what would a viable alternative be? Most 'paleo' alternatives to consumer products seem half baked. ( Just put baking soda and some type of oil on everything! )

You'll have to forgive me then, we get our fair share of spammers here and its best to shut them down early. Congrats on giving up your aluminum antiperspirant though, I'm still trying to get my girlfriend to give it up!

Not sure 'detox' is the right word to describe what you're doing. Also no reason to think there would be symptoms from removing something.

I've never done any kind of detox before, so I didn't have an idea of what the symptoms would be, if anything, or how soon to expect them. No need to come off so condescending.

Aluminum is a metalloestrogen and estrogen deficiency may cause such symptoms as far as I know, but even if it's really about this, I think you will need to compensate differently, not with aluminum.

This is the only thing I can see that might be related to what your talking about. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/11/24/why-canned-soups-can-be-dangerous-to-your-health.aspx

I'm pretty sure it's actually unrelated. We all have our good days and bad days. I had a real off day yesterday and kept trying to attribute it to this and that but in the end figured it was just an off day. Some combo of a poor night's sleep, a change in my usual meal habits, and the heat that day probably just threw my off equilibrium.

FWIW I'm not so sure there's any real danger in aluminum foil or cans... Did you read a study or something you wouldn't mind sharing? I might be getting a lot of aluminum in my diet and not even know it.

No, what you're experiencing is some sort of negative placebo. Aluminum deficiency does not make you late for class, does not increase anxiety, give you gas or brain fog.
