Extraterrestrial intervention on human society

The article covers the domestic dog, the pyramids at Giza, and the birth of agriculture. Do you think our paleolithic ancestors really decided one day to plant some grains and build cities? Or do you think society has different origins?

In the case of animals, I'd guess we decided to spare some of the animal babies we stole and raise them to larger size before eating them.

In the case of plants, I'd guess that some of them were eaten after being in a fire and found to be edible.

In the case of aliens I'd guess we'll never know. They could have done a whole lot of stuff but they didn't bother to write it down.

Read Guns, Germs and Steel of J. Diamond, or Health and the Rise of civilizations by Cohen. People who switched to agriculture had run out of mammoths, or gazelles.
