Yes, but of course it has some bad effects such as putting an extra load of detox work on your liver. It has the same issues as consuming high doses of fructose - so it tends to cause fatty liver.

You'd want to avoid all grain based alcohols that aren't distilled. So beer's out.

You can have hard cider, and most any spirits and sometimes wine - the problem with wine is that not only that some people are sensitive to the sulfites, but also that some wines are stored in barrels sealed with a paste made from wheat flour. While not listed as an ingredient, gluten does sometimes show up in wines.

So whiskey, tequila, and vodka are the usual gotos. Robb Wolf has his classic NorCal Margarita. Here's a recipe: http://ultimatepaleoguide.com/norcal-margarita-recipe/

This one claims the lime juice blunts insulin, but it also provides vitamin C to help your liver out.

Beware of flavored alcohol drinks, things like hard lemonade and the like - in the USA, ingredients are not listed on these, and they could hide all sort of nasty stuff like high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, petroleum based colorants, artificial flavors, etc.

You'd probably also want a good source of B-vitamins, and sulfur both before and after drinking. So things like egg yolks (without the whites), or even liver (pate is awesome), and maybe some scallions or onions or garlic, which will help your liver with both phase 1 and phase 2 detox. So maybe have some liverwurst and egg yolks with scallions before and after a binge.

You can also pop a couple of activated charcoal pills right before you drink both to prevent toxicity and to prevent hangovers. Also drink some water after. (WWII and cold war spies were known to do use activated charcoal to drink their "opponents" under the table, so you also have the cool James Bond factor here.) :)

Thank you for the good advise and ideas. Now I know what I can do which will probably be no alcohol.

Assuming you do not have celiac's or some other sever allergy/intollerance/alcoholism. Than pretty much anything is fine. But if you are going to partake, make sure it's high quality. Don't spend $9 on a 12 pack -- spend $9 on a single bottle.
