Anyone ever use alcohol to kill candida or other yeast problems?

This is just a theoretical question, but if high concentrations of alcohol are toxic to yeast, why cant we just get black out drunk then take a bunch of probiotics the next morning?

I realize that alcohol hurts the immume system at the same time and this may be a hurdle, but looking for ideas or insights here

No antibiotics or other treatment. The issue resolved with the abstention of caffeine and nicotine, and a very large reduction in alcohol consumption, as well as adopting a paleo diet. Made a huge difference in both mental and physical health for me.

Did you take any antibiotics? And yes as I stated alcohol compromises the immune system

I down voted becuase I honestly thought this was just some quick smart-ass remark that infered if you get black-out drunk "you'd die". But if it is in all seriouness and supposed to be taken literal, then you should note that the question was not how to "kill all the yeast" as you have more bacteria/yeast in your body then you do cells. It's just theortical becuase without creativity and logic, further advancements are limited

I believe this I is the complete and correct answer. it's like the way that bleach incontrovertibly kills viruses, but you can't cure a virus by drinking bleach.

I have my doubts, but I like your line of thinking here.

Okay, who is downvoting the truth? You do realize the amount necessary to kill yeast in your guts would probably kill you before it even gets to your gut? People do die from alcohol poisoning don't ya know?

Because you'd die before all the yeast would.

You'll still have candida, but you'll be too plastered to care. Looks like a good plan to me.

Personally, during my first years at university, alcohol consumption was a frequent, if not daily, activity which for me led to problems with what can only have been candida overgrowth. Alcohol compromises the immune system, which allows for yeast to grow where it's not supposed to in addition to damaging your gut when consumed in great quantities. Drinking is not going to solve yeast problems, only create an even more hospitable environment for the yeast.
