If you could only give your kids (hypothetical or actual) 1 single piece of nutrition advice, what would it be?

Just want to see what sort of gems we get. Or if there's a theme.

I was going to say avoid most packaged/bagged/shrink-wrapped/in-a-box/has-more-then-10-ingredients-in-it foods and drinks, but I like this one better!

Not original to me, but my advice is to just eat real food, not manufactured food products.

Can I do two? 1. If you can't pronounce all of the ingredients in it, don't eat it. 2. Moderation in everything is the key.

I never tried because I didn't care and now that I care they're grow up.

But I do remember doing something useful. My older daughter wanted to be veg like her friends. So I thought, "OK let's do this right" and took her to an Indian restaurant for the first time

That was the end of the veg thing. Not because she hated the Indian food, but because she saw that veg is a cultural thing that took thousands of years to develop and not a hip statement.

No-one can know what is right for your body better than you. Listen carefully to that little voice in your head and your tummy, and eat the foods that make you feel good and give you energy. If they make you feel sleepy or yucky, stay away.

Eat like Daddy. (Requires me to behave, so I might say 'eat like mommy' if I could find a woman who eats right.)

Eat good sized meals less often.

Meaning no snacking between meals, and eat only 2 or 3 meals per day as required. (1 meal is ok too, and more is ok if you are struggling to maintain or need to put on weight, but 2 or 3 should cover most people.)
