Just finished reading Liz Wolfe's skintervention guide...my skin is what brought me to paleo 3 years ago. It has improved quite a bit, but I have big pores and blackheads! I can't seem to get the oil cleansing method right (skin is too oily or too dry, Ive tried different mixes of oils...I guess I just havent found the happy medium yet) and Ive been using French green clay here and there for the past year (Imy skin feels great after, but it's not something I can do all the time. Too drying). I also have Green Pastures beauty balm which I use every other night.
Anyway, I am considering buying Primal Life Organics package to give that a shot....but Im really really having an issue with the price! $200 for a skin care package? I know I've spent way more than that if you add up all the treatments I've tried so far...but I'm nervous it won't work! Does anyone have experience with this product. Ive read the reviews on their page, but I know they are there to sell the product.
I'll also take other advice on unblocking these pores and shrinking them so I can get rid of these blackheads for good! TIA!

I have used the PLO face package and loved it; totally worth the investment in my book. I have slightly oily skin and had acne, nothing terrible but regularly occurring enough to be bothersome. The face wash is my favorite - it is gentle and very effective. I notice it in my skin when I don't use it - but obviously takes some time to find a balance of what your skin needs (I didn't need the toner, but love the serum+face wash). I use the moisturizer periodically when I'm dry. Overall, I love these products, they just feel clean and work well.

I can't comment on the Package you mention but I would recommend a read of Dale Pinnock's "The Clear Skin Cookbook". It is a great combination of discussion of skin conditions such as acne and eczema coupled with recipes that are mainly paleo-friendly. The Author is a nutritionist and medical herbalist and I have found it has helped with my pores and blotchiness as well as helped with my son's eczema. All the best.

Hi there, I was in the same boat as you were. I've had acne for 14 years and tried everything. It has cleared up with a paleo diet, but I needed the extra help topically. I too, read Liz's ebook and gained a lot of valuable information. I tried the CLO capsules for a month and didn't see much of a difference, then purchased the beauty balm (I also use that at night).
I've been using Primal Life Organics for several weeks and am so happy with their products! My red spots are already fading and my acne is calming down. I've added the knockoff Clarisonic (Olay's brand) to my Banished face wash routine several times a week to exfoliate. I am still going through the purge/detox, but I see beautiful skin coming through. I have NEVER been able to say that about myself.
All the best to you and I hope this helps.

Just checked out Primal Life Organics, they are way too expensive for me, but my skin is not that bad.
It used to be very oily when I was young (12-25) and I used French Green Clay a lot. Around 25, my skin became normal, a bit dry, but I was so chuffed it was no longer so oily. However it has now become too dry and for the past couple of years I have been experimenting with L'Oreal, Pure, homemade creams with essential oils etc. with mixed success. Making your own cosmetics is quite time consuming, especially when you already cook from scratch!
My latest discovery is a 'raw honey facewash': just rubb a bit of honey in your hands, massage it on your face for a minute, then wash off. It works a treat, and no preparation is needed! Ironically I found the recipe in a book about digestive problems, specifically constipation and bloating, 'Gutbliss', by Dr Robynne Chutkan. I am now going to try and see if I can find a similar recipe for hairwash as the 'no poo' method just didn't agree with me at all!

I have been using PLO for the past 6 months. I use the Carrot Seed Package, the Banished Serum and the Tooth Powder and I LOVE all of it. I have SUPER oily/acne prone skin to the point where I don't wear much make-up because it just rubs off and PLO and Paleo are the only things that have ever helped my skin. I have noticed a lot less oil production and my skin looks amazing.
The price tag may scary, but it is well worth it. And if you want to save a bit, you may consider trying the Carrot Seed package. I got my little sister who has crazy dry skin hooked on it and she loves it. She lives in Hawaii and Surfs ever moment she can, so that doesn't help with the dryness, but she said that PLO fixed it. Her skin is no longer dry and she doesn't have horrible breakouts any more.
I'll use the banished serum (maybe a drop or two with my Carrot Seed Serum) all over my face once a week after a mask and that seems to help keep my pores clean (but if you have super dry skin, you might want to wait for your skin to regain balance before you put Banished all over).
So, all in all I love PLO, it lasts a long time if you follow the directions on how to use it and it changed my skin a ton. The only part of the system you may run out of faster than the rest is the toner, but I make the stuff that Liz recommends in Skintervention with tea and ACV and that tides me over. I hope this helps and let me know if you have ny more questions about PLO (or e-mail Trina at PLO, she's awesome about getting back to people).
