Here are my symptoms... Hack me PLEASE! Graves Disease? Hyperthyroid? HELP

I've had hyperhidrosis and moderate acne for over 10 years now. I have gone paleo and cleaned up my diet for about 2 years but still suffer from the moderate acne and excessive sweating.

25 year old Male.

The acne flares up mostly around my chin and below my mouth.

The sweating occurs everywhere; feet, hands, armpits and crotch.

I think there may be a link. I think I may have hyperthyroid problems.

I have lots of other symptoms.

Symptoms:

Acne (moderate) (accutane didn't help) (neosporin, diet, & zinc help some)

Restlessness, trouble falling asleep.

Minor mood swings.

Fast metabolism.

Muscle weakness.

Increased sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Heat intolerance (goes back to when I was a kid)

Anxiety (minor)

Difficulty Focusing

I'm worried a have thyroid problems or some disease. Freaking out.

Those two work miracles for acne. And if your meat is not grass-fed I'd definitely take cod liver oil. You can also take Green Pasture's fermented cod liver oil butter oil blend, if you can afford it. Apart from magnesium and selenium, k2 is the only supplement that really made a difference in my skin. As you eat pork and chicken, your omega-6 is probably not that good. If I eat eggs or more than one avocado, or chicken or pork, I see the difference in my skin. Can't you eat lamb?

Any brands of cod liver oil or k2? And what is the logic behind taking those?

I take vitamin d, magnesium, and selenium. My diet consists of lots of meat (beef mostly, not grassfed). White potatoes, broccoli, spinach. Occasional fruit and nuts.

Diet has nothing to do with this.

I've done the elimination diet. I've gone strict paleo. It still does not go away. I eat lots of green veggies and meat and potatoes. No organs though, not grass-fed. I take magnesium, selenium, vitamin D.

I am still excessively sweating and hot. I still get acne but neosporin as a topical ointment has done wonders (not sure why).

400mg Magnesium before bed and a sleep mask has helped a little.

I eat low carb, sometimes moderate carb, sometimes high carb. There were no changes based on the amount of carbs. I use only butter, coconut oil and olive oil.

I don't eat specific amounts. It would take hours to list everything I eat. I eat beef, fish chicken, pork. Nothing is grass-fed. Lots of veggies, all frozen. I also eat white potatoes but didn't for a while and noticed no change. Occasional fruits and nuts, mostly berries.

Do you take cod liver oil and k2 for acne? And, if it's really annoying, magnesium and selenium? And don't forget vitamin D!!! We need to know your diet though.

Could you please post what you eat: a complete account with foods and amounts listed. Thanks!

Edited: Thank you for your answer. Most of your symptoms look like mine so I want am going to ask you to do something.

It might sound weird, but try it for one day only (it won't hurt for one day). No coconut oil, no olive oil, no butter, no eggs, NO SALT, NO SPICES. No tea, no coffee, only water. No vitamins (for one day only).

Try only:

MEAT/FISH (baked or boiled, no oil added)

VEGETABLES, especially cabbage family and tubers (steamed or boiled) NO NIGHTSHADES

NO NUTS

some low sugar BERRIES if you want (blueberries, for example)

No spices, no salt, nothing else. Why? When you go very very basic (elimination diet) and if you stop having those symptoms it is definitely something that you eat.

I found out that spices and salt have some additives that are not even listed on the ingredients list.

Let me know if it works for you. If it does not, it means that your condition has nothing to do with food.

I am saying this because I have almost the same symptoms you have, and I solved it by following the diet above.

I agree that you have to see a doctor for this. By the way, I have seen like four different doctors and only the fifth one was able to diagnose me correctly. You might have more stuff than just hypothyroidism going on. It is important to be correctly diagnosed. Find the best doctor you can.

Oh, and some of the symptoms (restless sleep, sweating, etc.) went away after I did elimination diet. I am gluten intolerant, and you may be too, you never know.

By the way, your acne may be related to your gut flora, and your gut flora is related to your food intake.

No matter what you have - DO NOT PANIC!!! You have to put some effort into it, but you will find the reason behind it eventually. Don't give up! GOOD LUCK!!!

You sound very hyperthyroid-ish, from what I've read about it. Seems like the first order of business would be to get some bloodwork done for your thyroid markers and get a better idea of how to proceed from there.
