I always get weird acne in places never before and oddly when I take fish oil. I mean the brand I take is a weird cheapo Walmart brand that doesnt expire until 01/16, but it seems pretty pure, just fish and glycerin.
I've heard a lot of other people breaking out from fish oil too though. When I take it, I take 2 or 3 pills at one time, and my omega 6 intake isn't super high at all now, very low cause the only fat I eat is from plantain chips. But still. Why is this? Is it possible to have too much omega 3? I mean if I ate like 4 pieces of salmon nothing would happen. I mean 3 or 4g of fish oil isn't even equivalent to one piece of fish.
I mean can my body just not process that much fish oil at once, not in whole food form? fish oil is supposed to be good for my acne not cause it! And flax is a no no for me. I need omega 3s and just can't eat fish everyday. Why is my body rejecting something it needs :(

Well the body of every individual reacts differently for the same food/medicine. Similarly your body is not reacting positively to the fish oil but may be some other oil shows better results. Like Christy has said that Krill oil be the good supplement. You should give it a try. I have heard many people complaining about Acne. Their are many other ways to treat acne. More importantly to stay hygiene and don't touch your face without washing your hands with antibacterial soap. As a skin infection Professional I always prefer to stay hygienic.

As a esthetician/ skin care specialist specializing in acne several of my clients have issue with fish oil supplements aggravating their acne. Not all but many of them. It may be the iodine content of that particular fish. I noticed less issue with krill oil. Those clients switch to a flaxseed supplement.
