So i am doign a leaky gut candida diet, which is pretty much paleo with no nuts and no fruit! But I feel like their is nothing to eat!!! I wanted maybe try like rice pudding with coconut, but i'm affraid it may hurt my healing and be super against paelo. But I am in college and an athlete and just don't like eating meat that much, only a few times a week, as my metabolic type is islander caribbean. Oh, and no eggs, I don't really like them and suspect they cause some problems.

With all this leaky gut talk, it makes sense, but i feel like overtime couldn't I just become intolerant to EVERYTHING? Or is that impossible?

I just feel like there is nothing to eat except meat, and goat milk kefir. Not even green apples? What do I eat? and how do I keep full?

I'm 19, acne since 14

I'll post something again about how I went about fighting acne.

What's VLC? So, we can eat starches and beat candida? I'm just paranoid about leaky gut and such. I just have no idea what is wrong with my body except from my skin.

VLC = Very Low Carb ZC = Zero Carb

I have acne since 14 years old and I'm 18 right now.

For the past 1 1/2 years in order.

Paleo with dairy - no change

Paleo without dairy - less cystic acne

VLC/ZC Paleo - finally very few breakouts and inflammation, candida problems evident

Paleo with veggies and probiotics - didn't help much, more acne then before

At that point I realized I have leaky gut and fungal/bacterial/yeast overgrowth problems. Some might call it Candida, but whatever it is the only way I have been able to fight it is this.

Paleo with 150g of carbs from starches like rice and potatoes. NO fruit, nuts, legumes, etc. I eat as little beef as possible, pathogens can feed on the high levels of iron in beef.

If you worry about leaky gut, you can try VLC Paleo for like 2 weeks, then add in starches slowly. It doesn't cause my symptoms to flare up at all, in fact it makes them better.

Paul Jaminet talks about the glucose deficiency causing problems for a lot of people. It held true for me. Fruit on the other hand and alcohol you must avoid like the plague. Even a little bit causes my symptoms to flare up.

I would also recommend a MetaMetrix DNA Stool Analysis. It is costly, but I've been fighting this for a year and a half and am not even close to beating it. I will be getting the test done soon. Hopefully I will be able to finally figure out how to rid myself of this forever.

You think there is nothing to eat? Try eating nothing but meat, zucchini and carrot for one week! I hate zucchini with passion... but I still love meat.

Listen to Chris Kessler's podcast about acne and go to Aglaee the Paleo dietitian page. Download her SIBO protocol.

You can have seafood, fish, poultry (chicken soup - yum yum!!!) and try to eat egg yolks only - separate them with your hands (like catch a yolk on your hand) - it is important that no white is left, not even a single drop.

You can go to candidadiet.com and also check out their list, then run it against SCD legal-illegal list.

You know, I have been eating meat all my life and I still love it! You just need to know how to cook it :)

I Found that adding safe starches like potatoes and rice made candida much more manageable. When I went VLC it only made my symptoms worse.
