Bumps in earlobe

Answered on August 19, 2014

This is a very different question than what's usually on here.. does anyone know what causes non painful pimple like bumps in my earlobe? You can't see them on my earlobes but when I feel them there is plenty there and I never used to have them before.

Is there any connection between them and acne?

I wish BoneBrothFast! I had cystic acne for years and went on two rounds of accutane in the late 80s and early 90s (which cured me of that and luckily didn't cause other bad problems). Just never go it on my earlobes so I have not heard of that. My comment may have come across wrong. I simply meant that the earlobe is one place I did not know you could get cystic ance. Have had painful pimples in my ear though. Anyway... I did not mean I don't believe you. I was just surprised.

You've never had skin problems, have you? You can pretty much get cystic acne anywhere except your palms and the soles of your feet. I've known people who get it on their lower back and legs.

Try warm water compresses, just warm up a clean, wet cloth in the microwave and apply to the bumps until the cloth cools down. Do this at least once everyday. Caution: DON'T BURN YOURSELF

I wouldn't say mine are gross. I wouldn't know I had them unless I felt my earlobe. They just feel like they shouldn't be there :S

My partner had one from years ago after what he believed was a piercing that healed, and when he was once on a steroid nasal spray, discharge. That lasted 3 days. The lumps still though now **

It's just cystic acne. Lower dairy and carb consumption and take a probiotic. In the meanwhile, eat as many anti-inflammatory things as possible to make it go away faster.

I used to get those too, but only on my left ear interestingly enough.

OMG I have those too.. So odd, I have no idea what they are. Just random lumps of flesh under my ear. Pretty random. They don't hurt, but as you said, they feel as if they don't belong there.

I get them, but they are pimples and eventually surface and pop. They are painful.

I have them too, and have had them since I was a kid. Can't see them, but you feel them under the skin when you pinch your earlobe. Rarely, one or two of mine will get inflamed (painful if squeezed, slightly larger than normal) when I am having a bad acne/hidradenitis suppurativa outbreak (almost never happens now unless I binge on corn and booze). That's probably not terribly helpful to you, but you're not alone!

I used to get those all the time. They went away, but before I changed my diet, so I can't attribute it to that. Those things were gross and they sucked.
