Eggs = spots?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with eggs and acne? I'm 29 and female, with generally clear skin (although I had terrible skin as a teenager) and I've pinpointed my current intermittent spot flare-ups to eggs. I always eat the whole egg. This is extremely frustrating, as I love eggs!

I'm interested in why this might be, does anyone know what's in the egg that would cause it? I've been assuming it's the whites - mostly just because the yolks are so nutritious? Could there be an effect of the protein in the whites that can cause acne? I hope so, because while I'll really miss my eggs, I'd miss the yolks more.

I'm going to try a yolk-only experiment and see how I go.

As for the whites, if EATING them causes acne, would there be any harm in trying one of the egg-white face masks that I keep finding recipes for online? I hate throwing things out... Or if anyone has any other uses for a pile of egg whites I'm all ears!
