Well it's been a really long time since I've been on this site. Looking back through what I've asked previously I feel like I used to be way to focused on my weight and how I looked, since then I kind of stopped caring as much because I was reasonably happy with myself.
But I'm back because I'm a bit perplexed right now. Earlier today my mom told me that it might be a good idea to exercise a bit more (in a nice way, she's not at all a rude person), and I can agree to that, over the summer I've gotten pretty lazy, though I recently picked yoga back up so that's helped.
And she also said it looked like I'd gained a little weight, maybe 15 pounds. And I have, last time I checked I weighed 167 pounds (I'm also 5'7 and have a larger frame), which is about thirty pounds more that I weighed a year and a half ago. But the weird thing is, I measured my waist earlier and it's actually smaller than it was a year and a half ago, 28 inches instead of 29 or 30, and it's really barely changed at all over the course of this year. I really don't look much different. And I haven't been exercising all that much either, just yoga now and then. She also said that my face looks a bit rounder.
I usually eat pretty well, the only unpaleo thing I eat is soybean oil mayonnaise on my gluten free sandwiches. Soybeans aren't that good for you are they?
Anyway I'm trying to figure out where did this weight come from and where did it go (where did it come from cotton eye Joe). Maybe it's just from me getting older? I'm going to turn 17 pretty soon so I'm still in that weird adolescent phase.
Oh I've also been eating more carbohydrates since last fall, I used to not get nearly enough, and after that my periods came back, which was a definite indicator that I needed them.
Maybe this is just my body's optimal weight? I'm not sure, any ideas?
I'll also answer whatever questions. Also I'm sorry if this question sounded a bit disorganized it's weird trying to include so many bits of information.

Since your waist went down I'm guessing you gained more muscle and lost some fat. So don't worry about it. Plus, you're still growing, so it's fine to get a bit more lean mass. As for the mayo, if you've got a blender, two eggs, some extra virgin olive oil, and a lime, you can easily make your own, or ask your mom to.

I'm guessing, based on your post & stats, you're female.
At 5' 7", a 30" waist (measured at your sideways 'bend' location?) is just about right for someone your height.
I think you've been slimming down, adding muscle and growing into your mature body?
Do you have access to way to get a body fat %?

you can forget about BMI it's pretty much useless, waist to height ratio is a very simple model but WAY better than BMI
And take a look at these... maybe your mom's impression is incorrect.
