I'm trying to embrace this lifestyle due the slew of physiological benefits I believe it can provide. I really do feel so much healthier since I've gone strict paleo. I gave been loading up on fatty meats and veggies. I recently cut out nuts and... (more)
Gaining weight is a function of energy balance (calories consumed over caloires expended), not which particular diet you follow (atkins, paleo, south beach, grapefruit, cabbage soup, whatever).
Hello I'm 20 years old and I have recently learnt about cealic diesease and about paleo diet. I have been skinny nearly all my life except when I was 2 to 3 years old. I weigh 56kg at the moment and i'm 177cm. When I was 7 I developed vitiligo... (more)
I'm 23 yo, 168 cm 49 kg atm. Want to gain some weight ( + 5 kg at least ) and get stronger in general. Crossfit is so a la mode these days and I heard that it helps to build body mass but... Are women designed to lift those weights and workout... (more)
Yes, crossfit workouts are intense and heavy, but don't buy the CW that women shouldn't be lifting heavy things because they will bulk up. Did Mrs. Grok only carry around three pounds of roots or berries in her woven basket or that Grok Jr. only... (more)

I have been on the Paleo diet since March 2013. I have been great except for one caveat, I am underweight and can't seem to gain at all. And also I am Vitamin D deficient. I saw a nutritionist and she told me I should not be exercising, but she... (more)
If you're not trying to lose weight, are there any benefits to ketosis? I hear it can treat many neurological disorders, for instance. I have ADHD and since going Paleo I've stopped taking my meds and feel better than ever! It seems like I feel... (more)
Are there any real benefits to IF aside from weight loss and a bit of boosted metabolism or watever? Will it help me live longer and feel better into old age? Longevity is very important to me. I have no need to lose weight but since going... (more)

Hello all. I'm a scrawny 25 year old male. I was raised on a pure junk food diet, had IBS, depression, half my teeth out and the rest filled in and a whole host of other problems. Over the last year I've massively improved by eating mostly stews.... (more)
Hey Paleoheads, I have been skinny most of my life (I am still young) partly due to stress and lack of appetite, partly genetics. I have found a ton of appetite lately tho, and Paleo in reinforcing it! I am 6ft and weighed 157 at my peak which... (more)
Hi! This is a general 'troubleshooting' question. I want to be energetic and happy, and I feel like something is holding me back physically. Some background: I am a 5'10 female, 60 kg, 19 years old, and in 2011 I put my body under a lot of stress... (more)
So I have done a bit of reading on ketosis, but do not understand it fully. I have been eating really strict the last month, literally just meat, fish and vegetables and have lost a load of weight. I do not want to lose a lot of weight because I... (more)
Hi, Ever since the 15th of September (approx), unfortunately I lost my period due to what I believe as being rapid weight loss. I've gained almost all the weight back ( about <1 kg less than the start ) and have seen my doctor. My doctor... (more)

Hello! I have been told by my doctor that I need to be gaining at least 1 lb per week until I am not underweight. I am currently 5'0" and 88 lbs due to eating issues while on paleo. I am in college and my doctor could force me to withdraw if I... (more)

I'm a 30 year old female with really bad digestive issues, and I'm 30 lbs underweight. Really, really underweight. Like, if I lose more, I'll have to go to a hospital and probably be force-fed ensure and stale food. I do not want to do that. I'm... (more)

As someone with Crohns I find the lower the frequency of my meals the better. That being said, I also find the smaller the volume of my meals the better I feel. You should start with the SCD intro diet or the intro GAPS protocol. I honestly would... (more)
Just a simple question. If reduced food reward reduces calorie intake, should underweight people follow a high rewarding (but healthy) paleo diet? (Consisting of all those highly delicious baked goods and recipes combining fat and sugar)
My husband and I are new to Paleo. He needs to gain some weight and is hoping some of you may be able to help. He's been cautious to jump in full force because hes seen so many people have weight loss success on Paleo. We were vegan for a while... (more)

I'm looking for some foods that are low in omega 6, fructose, and other things to be avoided on paleo, that are dense in calories and don't fill me up. Right now I'm thinking macadamia nuts but I can't find them anywhere neer where I live
Add coconut oil or palm oil to everything. Cook vegetables in it. Go for fattier cuts of meat. I also like using macadamia nut oil on salads.
Fun article about fermented foods in the Arctic circle
