I googled "mark sisson steroids" because I was curious how a 50-something year old can maintain such an amazing physique year round. I came up with the article above linked from a 30bad.com. Call me jealous, because I am. I wish I looked that good now, let alone 30+ years from now.
I understand he could just be a genetic freak (in which case his advice about diet/exercise is probably irrelevant), I know the saying "abs are built in the kitchen and not the gym," and I also know that although he looks good, his current fitness levels are only around average.
In the article he talks about the negatives of endurance training (which he did a lot of) and then addresses ways to combat this, one of them being the use of "therapeutic amounts of testosterone...to balance out high levels of cortisol when I have gone to the well too much."
I am just curious what your thoughts are. Has anyone ever asked him point blank in person if he does or use any such anabolic/anti-ageing aids? i know that both HGH and testosterone are becoming more commonly utilized by high end, anti aging doctors. Thank you for your responses.

There are several problems with this:
- The link is from 30bad. Don't expect it to be very truthful.
- Sisson was giving a hypothetical example of how someone who wanted to do endurance training could do so without destroying their body.
- Do we really want PH to be a place to gossip about people? There's no evidence or reason to believe Sisson takes any such things, and any such speculation could only amount to baseless accusations.
Well, my husband who is 65, is an example of one who looks physically decades younger. The last time he went for a total check-up, which was 15 years ago (he hates going), the doctor told him he had never seen a man his age in such great condition. How does he do this? He eats as I do most of the time (almost 100% paleo) but adds grain carbs for snacks (darn(:). The key is that he has always done what Sisson suggests; he is always moving and lifting heavy things, with the occasional spurt of energy used. He is a physically active person (carpenter) in his daily life. Anyway, seeing Sisson did not suggest to me at all that he is a steroid user. I think he certainly was born with good genes (being a runner) but it is possible to be very fit and good to look at:).
If your post title is a question then the answer is probably 'no'.
If he roided, it would destroy all his credibility and thus, his livelihood. He is genetically gifted with great discipline, and an amazing knowledge of what works for his body. 50 isn't that old. He lives his life according to his principles. Former athletes that still look the part are not uncommon. Jerry Rice is still destroying young pros during his training camp.
