I know there are lots of poop questions on here but none of them really help me out. I've brought this up before when I first started Paleo and had people telling me to up my carbs, up my fats, lower my fats, lower my protein, eat stems, etc.,... (more)
My latest post on my blog was about this. I struggled with loose stool a lot on strict paleo and it subsided when I would eat an apple sauce/banana/pumpkin/broth diet. Finally I got it to go away altogether by just well...not eating paleo. I still... (more)
If I eat meat/fish with fat (with or without greens) for dinner, how long will it take untill my stomach is empty again? I haven't found nothing but information about mixed meals with starches, which might take about 4 to 5 hours to leave the... (more)
This question is not asked by me personally. I have been emailing someone back and forth trying to figure out how to fix his problem. His situation is very unique. I hope someone can offer him some advice. If you want or need to know more then let... (more)
Hi everyone, Lately I've been scaling up my fat intake by adding coconut oil, coconut butter, coconut milk, and some ghee into the mix as before I don't think I was getting enough fat into my diet (I'm wrapping up a month on paleo). While I've... (more)
Alright, I seem to have had a particularly bad idea this morning. I took a TBSP of coconut oil soon after I woke this morning, as I was really hungry and wanted to have my actual breakfast before I get on the road for a long drive today. Drank... (more)
I've been Paleo for two months now (No grains, sugar, dairy, legumes). And since day one I've eaten at least one egg a day. I buy cage/hormone free brown eggs from either Trader Joes or Whole Foods. About a week ago, I noticed a dulling painful... (more)
Try eating just the yolk... you may have a issue with the whites alone (ovo leptins). See if you still have an issue. If that is the case, you may just have to eat something other than eggs, or just egg yolk.
I've been following a strict paleo diet for the last three weeks - Whole30-style, zero exceptions (so zero grains, legumes, or dairy), with very minimal fruit/sweet potato intake. Lots of things are better, but there is one strange side effect... (more)
Hey, everytime after eating bacon I get a bad stomach ache. The bacon is organic quality from my farmers market, but it tastes really salty after frying it. Could it be a problem with the salt? And when, what kind of bacon should I ask for? Kind... (more)

I am out of town visiting family. Unbeknown to us until we arrived, half of the family is sick with some kind of stomach bug causing vomiting and diarrhea. For those that have consulted a doctor, the doctors have recommended a diet of items such... (more)
I seem to be experiencing an odd and quite uncomfortable symptom of not feeling full no matter how much I eat (unless I quite literally eat myself to nausea). I'm certainly getting enough calories, upwards of 3000 due to needing to gain weight.... (more)
I am interested in achieving maximal GI tract health, and I am concerned that I have been continually re-injuring the damage done by 20 years of SAD. I am wondering what the optimal strategy is for restoring gut health as fully as... (more)
The first thing I would do is try to stop the diarrhea completely. When I was occasionally eating gluten I was having problems with diarrhea, but what works for me in a diet of just bananas, applesauce, and mashed pumpkin until you get at least... (more)
I remember reading somewhere that drinking before/after (10 minutes or so) and during the meal dilutes gastric juice PH level in the stomach and therefore contributes to lesser digestion quality. Does anyone have any more details (time, amount,... (more)
Occasionally, I would get a queasy stomach and some mild diarrhea, take some probiotics and I would be fine within an hour or two. Had a situation where both continued to get worse to the point, I started feeling weak (which happens with a weak... (more)
I recently started adding fish oil supplementation to my paleo diet but I find that every time I take it my stomach starts to burn. Not necessarily an upset stomach just more like general pain. Is this normal when you first begin taking fish oil?... (more)
Costco sells fish oil in enteric coated capsules. This means they break down until they get to your small intestine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enteric_coating). They have a kind of gross vanilla flavor to them, though.
I started the Paleo diet 15 days ago. (Eating fish but no meat). My overall energy and body feels very good on this diet. I don't find myself having any sort of side effects except from the diet with the exception of severe stomach aches. ... (more)

When I try to IF, I end up eating all the calories I would eat within one day anyway in the allotted amount of hours; so much that it feels like my stomach is stretching because I feel like I stuff myself so much. I can't seem to help it though!... (more)
I have a question regarding something I've noticed since beginning Paleo. I'm on day 7 and have followed the diet with no cheating. Did anyone else notice improvement in core strength without exercise during paleo? Okay, let me re-phrase as that... (more)

From the literature it seems that almost all cases of GERD/acid reflux occur due to too little acid not too much. I think this is because the stomach needs to contain a certain amount of hydrochloric acid before it shuts the LES. Correct me if I'm... (more)
