Probiotics and Chlorine from Tap Water?

Answered on August 19, 2014

How am I supposed to maintain a healthy gut, if chlorine from tap water, not even from drinking it, but from showering with it, is absorbed through the skin and is killing odd my gut bacteria? If this was the case, wouldn't everyone that grew up in the city, or that was a swimmer would have no gut flora. I'm a bit paranoid, cause I have just gotten over much of my candida and need healthy gut flora to pro due vitamin K2!

Agreed. We use an Aquasana filter and love it, and drink mainly spring water we collect from the source, and filtered tap when we have to.

Well... most people DO have screwed up guts. I know a lot of people who install shower filters like this http://www.pureshowers.co.uk/ and drink/cook with nothing but filtered or bottled water. We don't currently have a shower filter since we just moved but I only cook with filtered water and we drink high magnesium/trace mineral still water which is fortunately easy to find in Poland.
