I'm about to get my first order of grass-fed beef. I'm getting a split-half. How long does this last most paleo families? Approximately 85lbs of beef. The ranch's website said it lasts some families a year. I'm wondering if I can even get 3 months... (more)
I eat roughly 3-4 lbs of beef/week. With the 3 of you let's say about 8 lbs/wk so maybe 10 weeks. Probably 8 weeks if you have guests over.
So a lot of us in the Paleo community love Dr Davis's blog. Without using the word "Paleo", he seems to be taking Paleo head-on in his latest blog post: http://heartscanblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/plant-based-or-animal-based.html Uh-oh. I tend to... (more)
Having had some conversation with Nassim Taleb I think the answer is: it should be random! Hunter-gathereres ate a random diet based on what they found. Hunting and foraging always has an element of gambling. I remember when I lived in Sweden and... (more)
My first post! I've been dabbling in Paleo for a while and I'm starting to follow it strictly now. I've always felt that it's hard to feel satisified without grains. I need to eat a massive amount of meat and veggies to feel like I've had enough.... (more)
Hello I'm trying to get an idea of what 100g of carbs via veggies and fruit looks like. I've more or less cut grains out completely but before I started learning more about paleo living I really stepped up the fruit and veg intake (about 10... (more)
3-4 apples or 200 oz. of broccoli. If it's green then it'll be a ton! If it's a fruit then it will be much less. 3-4 cups of berries, 4-5 pears, etc. just mix and match until you have what will keep you full.
Hi All :) I'm relatively new to Paleo and am also a recovering/habitual binge and over-eater (in my non Paleo days). I'm striving for 3 good meals a day now and was wondering what your thoughts on eating to fullness vs eating a, "suggested"... (more)
Im just starting out here and have reached the 7 day(ish) mark. I feel so much better it is quite remarkable, but I'm not feeling that much lighter. I've seen stuff say Paleo is none restrictive in how much one can eat, then I'm reading theres... (more)
Tonight I ended up feeling really full... actually bloated is the better way to put it. I started freaking out (probably irrationally) about how much I ate. I started thinking back to the dark days of calorie counting and decided I'd count the... (more)
14 years old, 149 pounds, 5'3". I want to lose fat around my belly and legs. I need to get lighter for running as well. For breakfast I've been having 3 eggs and 2 slices of bacon + 35g of butter (which I'm thinking is too much?) Lunch is a... (more)
I feel like I eat way too much on paleo. I don't know if it's just in my mind or what, but I need help! I seem to end up eating about 3lbs of meat a day, plus about 10 eggs. I am also running about 60 miles a week though, so that could be a... (more)
I've been jumping back and forth between Robb Wolf's site, Mark's Daily Apple, and the Whole9 site as well as several other ones. The biggest issue i'm having is finding out how much lean meat, veggies and fats to eat. As i understand it there... (more)
So I'm coming off an extended period of taking a break from Paleo, have been eating out in SF a lot but trying to be as Paleo as possible; this seems to be difficult when the meat entrees at nice to above average restaurants serve meat in the 3-6... (more)

Seems ok, but try it for a little while and see how you fee. Not sure you need 48g whey protein, rather than just eat a little more. You are already getting a lot of protein, so I don't see the need to supplement.
