I have been doing crossfit for about a year in a half and was eating pretty good and strict paleo. But I have been deployed to Afghanistan since xmas eve and well i dont really have a choice of what to eat here. I still try to eat pretty clean alot of tuna and lettuce and whatever other vegetables im able to get my hands on. But I will be going on R & R in a couple days and my family doesnt really help the whole PALEO eating they eat alot of bread and everything else. I am 22 yrs old 6'2 and weigh 181 with around low 10percent bf. The people I am deployed with say that when im home for 2weeks since i will be coming back to afghanistan for another 6months that I should just eat whatever and just pretty much let loose for 2weeks while still working out on leave. I would like your advice on that, I just dont want to fully go into a downward slop I love the way I feel eating about 90/10 PALEO. But at the sametime I do feel like I can just eat and drink whatever while im home, but any advice would be super since you guys and gals are PALEO lovers also...

I really like your question. Enjoy your leave and family. Eat Paleo when you can but for family meals flex a bit.. Drop hints like you are looking forward to steak or other meat or that you love how someone makes omelets or eggs. If you cook a meal than you have a better chance of it working. I often make spaghetti and leave the sauce and noodles separate and pour the sauce right over the brocolli on my plate instead of pasta...
Berries and whipping cream is a good desert. I consider Vanilla Ice Cream to be on of the better cheats because it is so much better than cake with its grains and oils. But it lets you celebrate.
Main thing is to enjoy the time no matter how it turns out meal wise.

first off, get some good party time in, man. second, maybe bump up to 80/20 for r & r so it doesn't shock your body too bad.
