Meat and mucus production

I notice that eating meats, especially fatty ones appear to increase mucus production and I get a blocked nose and ears.

Is this common with a paleo diet?

Lots of books like ph or vegetarian based all say how eating meats increase the production of mucus. But paleo seems the logical diet to me.

Thanks for your help.

It is the opposite for me. Eliminating Grains and dairy products got rid of my runny nose and mucus issues ( seasonal allergies). Small amounts of white rice and cheese are still ok for me, though.

Could be histamines being released. Leftover, old meat can have affect some people in this way. I don't know much about it though...
