After submitting my first meta question on this new platform I realized that there was no way (that I could find) to see the meta questions from the PH home page. I know that http://paleohacks.com/spaces/9/help.html gets you there, but not many... (more)
Seems like there's really few/no moderators left. Maybe some folks are willing to take up the slack there? Users that come to mind: Happy Now, CDone, Dragonfly, Dave S., Eric 12, Jeff 1, greymouser???
I cannot log in because I need a three letter username before I can enter a new password. The form will not allow me to modify my username so that it has three letters. I no longer see where the "email the moderators" section is.
So, just use the full name instead of the abbreviation: CrossDresser.
(i love change, keeps me on my toes). Just thought some kind of post-PH-site-upgrade thread may be warranted to alert the admins of bugs & make requests for possible adjustments etc... Here's my one, Under the All... (more)
When I logged into the new site, it didn't recognize my password, so I clicked the reset link. It then appeared to create a temporary userid (Mike 37) instead of caveman_mike . Oddly, my question history was there, but my reputation went... (more)
Mine has come back too, still a little low but 95% restored, thanks.
I commonly see questions from new users that ask things like "why am I so tired" or "should I change my diet" without telling us how much they're currently eating, or what foods, or for how long. People ask "should I eat more carbs" without saying... (more)
I agree with greymouser and the OP: we can be of best assistance to others with some basic information from the person posing the question. I've stopped counting the times I've written, "how many calories do you eat a day?""What do you eat?" "What... (more)
http://paleohacks.com/questions/152482/canned-salmon-vs-alaskan-pollock#axzz2Szsyh5bb Is it just for me? Or do other people see it too? It's kinda annoying... (more)
It's just today that I noticed this.. when posting a comment or question, if you type a certain word or phrase, the system automatically links it to an external product website. For example, I typed the word 'coconut oil' and it automatically... (more)
I think it's time we used QuickMeme to make some paleo memes. More funny if you know the meme as well. Memes used include Good Guy Greg, Success Kid, Bad Luck Brian, Futurama Fry, First World Problems, The Most Interesting Man In the World, Fight... (more)
Everytime I come to this site, I want to leave within 30 seconds, because I get the stupid pop up ad to sign up for paleo hack spam. Somehow it defeats my no pop up ads browser setting and ad blocker add-in. Can someone who runs this site turn... (more)
Should we establish some community guidelines for discouraging repeat spammers and/or trolls? For example, it seems to me that downvotes or comments, while useful in the community as a whole, only serve to encourage them. What are your thoughts,... (more)
I just flag them. I don't waste the downvote, and no longer dignify them with comments (though it's so tempting, I admit). I think having to be a registered user to post questions (though not to comment) could also be useful in deterring them.... (more)
I agree there is value in anonymous voting. However, would it be possible to add the ability to include an anonymous comment along with the anonymous downvote? That would allow someone to explain the downvote without losing... (more)
I'm fairly new to PH, so I can't claim to understand everything that goes on, but I'm curious about the criteria used to determine what constitutes a valid question. In the past ten days or so, for example, there have been three questions asked... (more)
I'm far from being a big thinker in the paleo world but it seems to me there's a lot of discussion going on about higher carbs vs. lower carbs and all kinds of micromanaging of dietary minutia to affect this, that or the other hormone that... (more)
I'm specifically referring to questions that get bumped to the top of the site automatically over and over again. They are usually one-of questions asked by a user that has long since disappeared. They'll never get answered, because the questioner... (more)
For those who don't know, there is way to search this site a little easier, and also maybe this should be posted to show up before someone asks a question. I copied this from the starting strength website and so I'll leave Rip's sarcasm in.... ... (more)
I wholeheartedly take pride everytime I am able to log in and see my PaleoHack family/friends due to being able to learn so much from you guys. Through the logic and better understanding of what this site has done for me personally Anyone out... (more)
What place does political discussion have on PaleoHacks? Does eating Paleo pre-dispose one to lean any one way on PaleoHacks? Melissa: I am bumping this again because I've seen several political questions today.
My favorite aspect of this site is the informed debate that goes on here. Because of the format of the site, most of this goes on in the comments to a question or answer, as it would be difficult to follow the thread of differently voted answers.... (more)
Last night, I had a pretty cool conversation of a personal nature with someone via comments on a question I had answered. The problem? It took something like 18 comments to have this conversation, and the info discussed wasn't really relevant to... (more)
I would absolutely love a PM function. Sometimes there are things mentioned within an answer or comment that I would love to chat about off the board. Not enough PHers have their email address or a website attached to their profiles!
