Any Paleos fighting/living with Lyme Disease? Diet helps?
I have been diagnosed with a recent ( past 1-2 months Lyme Disease infection) curious as to wether a Paleo diet is helpfull in combating this disease. On doxycycline for three weeks but then the approach is to wait and see if my symptoms go away.

Anything that helps your body be stronger and healthier will help your body fight pathogens. And so paleo will do that.

Me! I worked on healing for 2 years, using cats claw. I didn't use antibiotics. I also supported my immune system using a wide range of supplements, under the care of a naturopath. I'd say cutting out the grains and dairy was the biggest help to my healing. Also, yoga. Stress reduction is vital in fighting this disease. I don't know that it'll ever be gone, however, I feel "normal" and am able to lead a normal life. I just had a baby and he is completely healthy, which says a lot about the health of my body. I cannot stress enough the importance of diet, NO sugar, relaxation/meditation, and supplemental support. Even if you are under the care of a Dr, I think it'd be nice to have a naturopath to give you alternate points of view and ideas for healing. This is just a disease that needs to be approached from all angles. My Lyme was chronic and I'd had it for about 1-2 yrs prior to diagnosis. That was a big reason I didn't use antibiotics. They aren't shown as effective in chronic Lyme.

I've been wondering for a while now, f it's also beneficial to cut out fruits?(maybe some occassionally)as fructose is a sugar too. On one hand our bodies need vitamins etc.,so I'm still debating if going VLC would be such a good idea. I'm also not sure how much grams of fat a regular person&Lymies need? My thinking pattern is my biggest stressor(I've done the chronic Cardioing&lowfat pre_Lyme&never enjoyed it.There's this constant voice in my head telling me I'll grow fat, without working out.I think there's also a connection with bad gut-flora/digestion&undernourishing myself, since I don't know when I'm hungry.Than after dinner I get the munchies and keep on snacking.). I'd like to be able to become strong, but I guess I must learn to accept that I'm just not gonna be able to get that athletic body and learn to love myself despite being able to do the whole Primal Lifestyle.
