I'm just curious about whether there is any evidence to show that a low fat diet leads to vitamin D deficiency. Both my parents have recently been told to take supplements and I'm suspicious that their low fat diets is part of the cause.

I believe it is because carbs raise your insulin levels which promotes fat storage. Thus if you don't have much fat in your blood, it cannot be stored in fat cells.

I was there in the same place once. Looking back I think the advice I would give, if you were serious about going paleo, is to go slowly. Make the changes to diet slowly. Check out the feedback your body will give you.
