CONFUSED NEWBIE!!! I'm getting so many different answers. As far as I know.. I'm 20 years old female, weighing 165, height 5'6"-7" and my ideal weight is 130 pounds. I'm trying to do HIGH fat, MOD protein, LOW carb. I was told to eat 1 gram of... (more)
I've started running again (and beat my record last Saturday), and runners need carbs, but I'm also trying to lean out, so how many grams of carbs per day should I aim for?
I have read that 20g of dietary fat (essential fatty acids) and 0.7 to 1.0g per pound of bodyweight of protein a day is standard minimum for healthful function. Anyone have any clarifications or expanded info on this? Thanks!
So, this week I've been really careful with my carb consumption and not going above 35-40 grams. I feel weird, like a dryness at the back of my throat (making me a bit sensitive to some apparent mucus back there) and some body smells have been...... (more)
Newbie here. Day 4, just getting over the hump of the first few days and starting to feel better. I'm a mid-thirties mom, 145 lbs and 5'4", trying to lose about 20 lbs if possible. And get some energy back, maybe balance my hormones, etc.... (more)
OKay, so I am new to paleo, and I have scoured the boards but haven't seen an answer to this. According to Robb Wolf's getting started plan, you should eat approx. 4 meals/day, with each meal being based on approx 3-4 oz. of protein. Now, that... (more)
Protein requirements are largely overstated. A half pound of meat daily (two 4-ounce portions), plus your veggie load is enough for most everybody, that's in the ballpark of 80-90 grams protein (guesstimate: ~0.75 gram per lean bodyweight).
How are you guys able to measure how many grams of protein you are eating? I don't have a scale..Also, I have heard you must eat 1 gram per desirable weight. I want to be 130lbs, so 130 grams? Is this right?
I recently talked to my trainer/paleo guru about getting my body fat % down. We did all the caloric related math for my BMR and needs. In order to decrease body fat, my caloriie requirement daily is 1777kcal. I have been tracking my food using... (more)
According to many Paleo experts, we should aim for 1 gram of protein a day per body weight when trying to lose weight (fat not muscle). This is ALOT of protein. For example, one egg has 6-7 grams of protein and they are about 70 calories each. ... (more)
I try to look all over the internet to find if anyone knows how much fat is being burned a day from ketosis. Many people ask about calories, but I don't care about that. Is it possible to know a range. I don't want to eat too much fat and not be... (more)
This question is to do with any measurment of what is in food: calories, fat, carbs, protein, vitamins or minerals. Many people seem to talk about how many grams of carbs they eat or their percentage of fat or type of fat. However few... (more)
Been trying to eat Paleo but after tracking my food realized that I was eating alot of goats milk, yogurt and a ton of whey protein daily. I want to drop all of these to see how I feel and today was my first attempt at it. I ate 1 pound of... (more)

Hey guys, I'm a 20 yr old female that recently started eating paleo (again). Right now I'm consuming approx. 1,200 calories per day; although, I'll admit, sometimes I consume closer to 1,000. I realize this is probably too little, but I'm... (more)
Some paleo experts don't eat many carbs at all (ala Kurt Harris) while others eat 100-150 grams a day (ala Mark Sisson). I'm not at all convinced that eating around a 100g a day is bad, although it might not be necessary to eat a ton of... (more)
Totally depends on how long you cook it, how much was in each individual foot, etc. There really isn't a good way to standardize the measurements like processed food. Better to just have your broth every day and just trust your food.
So, I've recently started working out and want to add a bit of carb into my diet to see how it effects my muscle growth / recovery. I'm reading a lot of 50g-100g being the sweet spot and want to try it and adjust from there. My question is if... (more)
