I have suspected Gilbert's syndrome (present in 5-10% of the population) and it is mostly considered to be benign. My bilirubin is usually but not always elevated. I've seen a lot of papers on PubMed about the beneficial affects of the syndrome though such as this one, which makes me wonder whether this is the start of an adaptation to neolithic diseases. This paper links it to reduced BMI and inflammation but I've also seen it linked to heart disease. What do you all think?
