why restrict *relatively* paleo foods when cheat meals still exist?

If most people practicing a paleo lifestyle follow the 80/20 or 90/10 rule, what's the point of staying away from foods like nuts and fruits if cheat meals/foods are still on the table? I personally struggle with what whole foods should make up my 80% (i.e. nuts? dried fruit? bananas? potatoes? heavy cream?), but then wonder what the point is in obsessing and perfecting my baseline diet if I'm indulging in ice cream once a week.

Why stay away from nuts / fruits? Coconut / Macadamia / Olive / Avocado oil is the stuff. I eat fruit / nut fats everyday with most meals. If ice cream is your thing, learn how to make some legit ice cream. I like this graphic.

So your pretending people do something then ask why they do this thing you think they do?

I don't think the people that do 80/20 cheats are the same people that obsess over removing nuts bannanas and potatoes.
