I was craving Chinese food last night and I managed to avoid ordering delivery by cooking up this recipe. It was incredibly tasty and a great way to jazz up the boring boneless/skinless chicken breast I had on the menu for dinner. Despite its... (more)
Are pickles paleo approved? I am looking for a low calorie natural food to munch on, and I am enjoying chowing down on half a jar at a time. I know they are very high in sodium, but that is the only downside I can see....
There is a big difference between "real" fermented pickles (i.e. vegetables that are made sour and preserved via fermentation) and virtually all store-bought pickles (i.e. Vlasic) which are basically cucumbers plus vinegar, sugar, salt, artificial... (more)
Not even avocado pudding?!?! Mmmm my kids and I love avocado pudding! Just mix in some cacao, honey, vanilla, dash of salt, and heavy cream (or coconut milk or water or w/e)... mix mix mix enjoy!
So. I 've been a strict (100 percent) Paleo dieter for exactly one week. In the past two days, I've noticed a growing food aversion to what I'm eating. It's not for all foods, but it's still hard for me to figure out why. This morning I woke up... (more)
I'm going to be moving to Germany for a year this fall, and I want to get there already knowing what to eat. I'll be in Potsdam, so local advice would be nice. I'm also on a rather small stipend, so I'm going to have to eat on the cheap. I've... (more)
It seems to me like many people inherently find crispy food desirable: potato chips, tortilla chips, crackers, certain cookies, certain candies, grilled/fried meats, breaded fried chicken, bacon, toast, etc. If true, then this would suggest... (more)
My wife and I wanted to expand our limited range of veg selection and bought some kale and boiled it and it was totally inedible, soooo bitter. How does one eat kale and WHY if it's so bitter. Perhaps our kale was just SUPER bitter for some reason. (more)
I've been primal for 14 months. The more strict I am the less gas I have. This is true 99% of the time. Every once in a great while I will get terrible gas that smells absolutely putrid and that I can't figure out what food it is from. I thought... (more)
I am a Paleo eater of 4+ months and love it! I am currently training for a 2 day double-century bike ride (200miles in 2 days). I only ride on the weekends and do crossfit style workouts during the week. I am really trying to stay Paleo even on... (more)

No offense, however, I got to tell you bro, I will eat any kind of offal, but the image of a Chicken breast omelet makes me want blast chunks. It's a sort of mother and child reunion.

Hi, Have been looking for beef jerky in the stores (I`m from Norway) but I cant find any without sugar ect added. In the pets store I found a lot of dried heart/stomach ect that was witout any added ingridients, just 100% natural. It wasn`t too... (more)
I had a cousin who ate dog jerky, saying it was as tasty as the human stuff but at half the price. Never got sick from it.
The wife and I are having to cut costs as I'm quitting my job to go back to school. I'll still have some income, but less than half of what I make right now. As such, cuts have to be made, and it looks like the "unnecessarily high" cost of my... (more)
I'm training for a half marathon and I'm up in the 8-10 mile range and fairly new to paleo. I typically eat some eggs and bacon and a half of banana or so before the training runs, and nothing during. Just water. My last two training runs, I've... (more)
What have you done to make eating paleo more efficient, nourishing or tasty? Did you come up with simple and functional lifestyle changes? To increase fat content of fried eggs, add dessicated coconut to the eggs. Add vanilla for taste.... (more)
I cook a sweet potato in the microwave and then add two raw egg yolks to the hot potato and mash. The hot potato lightly cooks the yolks for a quick nutritious meal that requires no dishes.
Hello everyone, I have been IF this week and I wonder if anyone has day off tips as far as food recommendations. I have noticed I feel sick when eating heavy foods (beef, pork) but I need the high fats and protein to keep me going during my fasts. (more)
My wife and I are currently spending just under $200 a week ($800 a month) on food. Our costs actually went up when we started Paleo. I'm curious what you pay a week and what tips you might have for saving some money. We're about to buy a house,... (more)
So, this question was conceived based on a question about bacon, but I am now asking it as a different and more generalized question. Salt and sugar have been used as effective preservatives for ages. When I make gravlax at home I use a roughly... (more)
What was a notorious SAD meal you ate before going paleo? Something you maybe grew up on? For me growing up it was a lot of pasta with second helpings. I know people who view pasta as a childhood poverty food, but my family on my dad side is... (more)
MY high school PWO meal @ McDonald's... must have had this 100 times: 4 double cheeseburgers with mayo and ketchup, large fry, large coke, 2 apple pies. Never gained a pound, but felt like crap.
I just viewed this video [link text] : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_player&v=4ITrXVJMKeQ and it is pretty scary (if true). Dr Helen Caldicott claims that our food in North America can be contaminated by the... (more)
Hi, I was having raw (cow's) dairy products which I thought I was handling fine even though I had experienced some digestive disorders and what appeared to be food sensitivities. I did an allergy test and it appears that I am mildly allergic to... (more)
What is the Paleo crew's stance on food combining? I have heard that digestion occurs in layers(on the basis of its time of consumption, nutrient/anti-nutrient composition, viscosity, etc.) and this seems to be 'borne' out in personal empirical... (more)
I read a lot of different Paleo related sites and often see the community list foods they eat. I am a bit surprised at how often chicken comes up. I thought chicken was full of omega 6 and low in omega 3/sat fat. To me, it is a low energy... (more)
