Hi! I have been perusing the forums for a question that poses a similar situation to mine, but was unable to find one. So, I decided to finally post my own question to get some advice. I am curently recovering from anorexia, from which I... (more)
this course looks very informative, but is rather pricey. i'm wondering if anybody has taken it & if you can recommend it?
I first started experiencing problems with my period when I was eating a low carb diet in 2012. My cycles became very long (40 days) and painful. They also lasted up to 12 days and I would not bleed like normal anymore, mostly black, clumpy bits... (more)
Hello, I am new here and just started Paleo. Previously, I found I was mostly Paleo already, but after doing more research I feel it is ideal for heath. My question is, I am doing Paleo for health, but like many people, and hoping to lose... (more)
Hi, I was an underweight vegan for several years and lost my period. Surprise. I am now a healthy weight and started to eat meat. My question is has anyone here suffered from and recovered from amenorrhoea? Found paleo has helped?
I have been Paleo for over a year now. When I started, I was relatively lean with a very flat stomach, despite eating gluten and sugar and relatively low fat. I am a 37 year old female who is 5' 6" and weighed 115lbs a year ago. Ever since... (more)
Dr. Michael Fox of Florida says yes - in 90% of cases. Has anyone here resolved their PCOS this way? Interesting video interview:... (more)
Two babies later, each one conceived after about 8 months back on my plan of high fat paleo (and not conceiving in the years when I didn't eat that way without birth control), I would say yes.
I am a 28 year old female with Uterine Fibroids and PCOS( i don't think PCOS is an issue any more as i don't have any blood sugar issues since going PALEO) I have been told to eat no more than 20% of my calories from Fat per day in order to heal... (more)
I have multiple autoimmune issues with my thyroid, heart, liver, and colon being affected (and I have celiac) which is why I eat paleo. Since I got diagnosed 2 years ago, I went off the pill and haven't had a period since. My husband and I want... (more)
I've been paleo for almost 6 months. I do occasionally cheat, but really find that I have more energy when I stick with it. After much testing/trying/deliberation we've decided to go the IVF route to build our family. I understand that IVF is... (more)
Hello, foxy carnivores. Forgive me if this has been asked a million times. I'm at the beginning of thinking about making babies (this will be my second kid, with my first turning 4 in May). My diet is pretty good primal: raw milk and cheese when... (more)
Detox, in the hippie sense of the word is meaningless. Your body cleans it self out all the time, and with very minor exceptions doesn't hold onto any toxins. Robb Wolf has a good rant about this in his latest pod cast.
I've been doing Paleo probably at about 90/10 for right at 2 weeks now. I haven't noticed a huge difference on the scales yet, as I'm down to ~150 from ~155 (I'm almost 25, and am 5'5", for reference). I was talking with my boyfriend this... (more)
I've decided very early that I don't want to have children. Many women have told me that I'm going to change my mind someday, since they did. I haven't changed my mind yet, but I'm always a bit afraid of later regretting not having children. I'm... (more)
This study has been making rounds today and I was wondering if anyone had any insight on it. My first instinct is to dismiss it but it seems like a rather large pool so maybe there's something to it. Does anyone have access to the full text? ... (more)
Does anyone have any opinions or know of any research relating to the effects of intermittent fasting and fertility? I am starting to wonder if my IF-ing is hindering my ability to get pregnant. My husband and I are both IF-ing 16/8 with... (more)
I do believe that avoiding fasting, eating more carbs and protein, and being well nourished in micronutrients will help you conceive. Fasting has a lot of benefits, but it's not good for fertility.
My question is whether there are any particular foods to concentrate on in order to promote healthy sperm production? My husband is post-vasectomy reversal. He doesn't get "tested" until May but in the meantime we wondered if there were any... (more)
I have been doing crossfit for about 6 weeks and eating paleo about 2 months. I've noticed that my cycles are a lot longer lately (50-60 days), instead of about 30-35 days which is what they were before. I don't really know if I'm ovulating... (more)
You need to closely monitor your caloric intake. I did this when I had irregular periods and I was shocked at how low it was (I used cronometer). If it's low you will need to start forcing yourself to eat more calories, either by eating more food... (more)
When I was a veg*n I struggled with hair loss, excessively long periods, and depression during my period. About four years into mostly paleo, I went through a period where my periods were just right, but now they are only 1-2 days. I also now have... (more)
In "Sleep, Sugar, and Survival" the author mentions that once upon a time babies were conceived in the summer because of the abundance of fruit and optimal vitamin D levels. I've seen a lot of threads about birth control here, and I was... (more)
Has anyone used the Healthy Baby Code, put together by Chris Kresser (who also does the Healthy Skeptic)? If so, was it worth the money (~$200)? I think it probably is (it's endorsed by Robb Wolfe, too), but I wanted to see if anyone had used... (more)
At the risk of offending any confirmed non-breeders here I'll ask my question anyway. So I was reading this article in Details magazine http://www.details.com/culture-trends/critical-eye/201104/no-baby-boom-non-breeders My question is, much... (more)
About the HPA AXIS, hormones and fertility. I have hypothalamic amenorrhea, and the ONLY studied and proven cure is leptin injection, however that is obviously not affordable. I am 25 years old, female(obviously ha) and trying to gain back my... (more)
Also, check out naturallyknockedup.com for a paleo friendly website to fertility.
Prefatory reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographic-economic_paradox Prosperous people generally have less babies than poorer people. This seems contrary to what I would expect, from an evolutionary perspective. Western places have... (more)
Following a series of miscarriages and taking a long time to conceive in between the losses, I have been under the care of a miscarriage specialist here in London. A series of blood tests revealed that not only do I have large amounts of active... (more)
