After years of rarely getting cramp, I am beginning to get quite frequent cramping, mainly in my fingers or feet, though sometimes calf. Is this a sign of a mineral deficiency? Or just a consequence of ageing?

After you make stock from chicken feet, do you have any chicken feet left, or does it all dissolve in the stock? I looked at some recipes like these, but they dont mention anything about what to do with the feet after you make the... (more)
I like to just eat them! They're crunchy and delicious - great on top of salad with some spicy mustard/horseradish for a strong flavor.
So I am 25 years old and my feet have decided to grow another 1/2 inch. Is it implausible or uncommon for someone my age to keep growing? I am 6 feet tall 178 pounds already. I had stopped growing...

Lately my health has been going down a bit, just like the temperature. I found out I don't tolerate retinol, so I probably am vitamin-D deficient again (my retinol intake has been > 30k IU daily for 6 months, my beta-carotene intake has been very... (more)
Is it more natural to let your feet get cold in the winter-- e.g. "minimalist footwear"? Or is it better to really bundle up the feet and keep them warm-- e.g. fur-lined moccasins? What is your favorite winter footwear and why do they work for... (more)
Do your feet (the physical feet, not walking mechanics) seem different after long-term barefoot walking/running? Here's a study concluding that born-barefoot walkers have wider feet than born-shoe... (more)
I've been prone to sore feet as far as I can remember. I can't walk for more than about half an hour without my feet getting sore, and lately that's been a big problem because I live in an island community where everyone walks everywhere, and... (more)
one way to find out more - if you have a running store that offers gait analysis, that can tell a lot about your stride as well as how you stand. Some foot orthotics shops offer same service. If there isn't one near you, a podiatrist (or... (more)

So, many of us get weird cramps and we are trying to figure out why. I have been under a lot of stress lately, so I tend to eat less. I noticed one day that my feet felt okay in the evening. I did have some carbs that day, but early, like 10 am,... (more)
My solution for cramps is bananas. I don't have them every day, but if my muscles start getting jittery I buy a bunch and the muscles get happy. The bananas also seem to help when I need to be active in our Nevada heat.
I'm a student, and, sadly, I spend a lot of time sitting. Before my primal blueprint-induced weight loss, I sat with my legs crossed (ankle over knee) quite often, and it took up to fifteen minutes for me to feel a change in... (more)
How much have you lost? Your legs used to have more padding between the outside and the nerves, and now that it is gone, the nerves are more likely to be pinched when crossed.
With the arrival of cooler temperatures my cold hands and feet are back. They're way better than they used to be pre-paleo but still a problem-- any special foods, nutrients or techniques you've found to help?
Totally depends on how long you cook it, how much was in each individual foot, etc. There really isn't a good way to standardize the measurements like processed food. Better to just have your broth every day and just trust your food.
A non-diet question here, since a lot of us are interested in other aspects of paleo physiology: I went hiking recently and wore hiking boots while my two buddies had Vibrams. Their feet were pretty beat up afterward, and I read recently about a... (more)

This might be a weird question but since I started sprinting my right food has been having these waves of heat. It's not painful just a strange feeling. It's usually occurring while I'm sitting at my desk. It also feels as though I need to "pop"... (more)
Thanks for all the answers. I actually found out I have a pinched nerve in my foot. Basically I need to chill out for a bit on the sprinting until I can figure out how to fix this.
