tatical energy is a survial mechanism. Your body responds because it needs to in order to get more energy (food). Carbs are not the devil, 5 day fasts are not health seeking.

Eating strict paleo doesn't mean eating low carb. Get lots of tubers and starchy veggies and you can easily get your carbs up to a level you can deal with. 1 cup sweet potato = 40 grams, remember :)

A pound of red cabbage is virtually nothing. About 35g of carbs, and the calorie content of 3-4 strips of bacon. Maybe you're low energy because you're not eating enough?
