I'm just a little confused and need some clarification. People keep telling me that fasting is NOT a diet, but then they say that you can't eat whatever you want. I don't eat sit around eating junk food all day, but after doing a fast daily until 7pm to 10pm, I don't want to feel limited in what I can eat. Isn't it ok to eat 'forbidden foods' in moderation for someone like me who fasts 5 days a week? I eat a lot of coconut oil, protein, and green veggies, but would like to also be able to eat some sweet potatoes, dark chocolate, carrots, and bread and burgers on occasion. I'm not a bodybuilder and I'm not 'cut up' but I absolutely LOVE sprinting 3 days a week. Why is eating 'regular food' considered so detrimental to the fasting community? I just want to understand so I can decide if I want to clean up my eating habits...it all seems so rigid. Oh...and I've done the meat veggie protein bar thing. This is just me trying to keep my eating regulated without having to be so strict or follow 'guidelines'...

Irrespective of fasting or not, the only remotely paleo-forbidden food you mentioned in that list is bread. If you are active, and you're denying yourself roots and tubers like sweet potatoes and carrots, you are being foolish.
I'm not sure what the fasting community is concerned with, but the folks doing Paleo are primarily focused on eating healthy (high nutrition, low toxins).
So whether you are fasting or not, doing exercise or not, the goal is still to eat healthy.
That doesn't mean you can't treat yourself.
