Diarrhea goes away when I stop paleo...

I was going strong on Paleo for 3 months and I started having severe stomach aches followed by diarrhea every time I ate. I was eating strict paleo, and this just came out of nowhere. The holidays hit, I took a "break" from Paleo, and like magic, the diarrhea and stomach pains stopped. Chick fil a, cookies, sushi with rice, egg nog, you name it, nothing bothered my stomach. Did it for a week and felt good. Decided whatever it was must have passed. So, when the holidays passed, I got back on Paleo, and the diarrhea and stomach aches came back. Instantly. Went to the doctor and he doesn't know what is going on. Tested my blood for bacteria and didn't find anything. So, I'm turning to you. Any suggestions?

Today I had a chicken salad for lunch, destroyed my stomach. Tonight I had grilled chicken over white rice. No problems. I was waiting for someone to suggest this, glad it helped. Thanks Andrew

Yeah, I've tried my best to narrow it down, but I think Andrew is right...my body needs carbs.

I agree with this... I had a real problem digesting nuts (specifically walnuts and pecans) but I didn't know and it took me several months to figure out.

Is your version of paleo very low carb? I found I had the same problem but adding back potatoes, white rice and other none gluten carbs pretty much resolved the issue. VLC is not for everyone.

Honestly, ive had diarrhea for a while due to ulcerative colitis. The only thing that has gotten rid of it is eating resistant starches. I was starch free for 16 months and when i added potatoes, sweet potatoes and green bananas, it went away.

Maybe it's an intolerance to a specific food that you eat more often on Paleo. Could be eggs, nuts, broccoli/cruciferous plants...
