My father is experiencing a rather radical and sudden discolouration of his teeth. Parts of them has gone almost all black(!). This came all of a sudden after he had been using coconut oil as toothpaste for 14 days straight or so and I am... (more)

Other than the desirable and frothy texture that resuts in using a blender, what difference does blending coconut oil or just stirring it in do? My goals are to supress my appetite until lunch time for weight loss.
Dear Paleohackers, Good Afternoon, how are you all? Well, yesterday I purchased a bottle of Nature's Way Fractionated Coconut Oil. I have a bottle of natural virgin coconut oil at home. To save some of the liquid coconut. I want to mix the... (more)
I'm a coconut oil fiend who is bitterly disappointed that my favourite product has been pulled from the shelf. Ok, I really like the other oils too, but they are all very expensive and, well, I'm cheap. Sooo, I have resorted to investigating... (more)
Mate, just bite the bullet and buy the bloody coconut oil. The paleo way is about eating as natural as possible. NOT processing food even more. Stop being a tight arse!!!
I bet this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything. Okay, so I really fell off the Paleo wagon, REALLY BAD for a while, and now I am becoming insulin resistant again. I get hungry twice at night time, for example, even when I have a... (more)
I think I may consume 3-4 tablespoons a day.
You recommend Oil pulling as a detox, and I love to get into that, but I have heard that when you have amalgam in your teeth, there is a chance that the mercury releases and make your body even more toxic... any comment about that? Thanks
Fillings are perfectly safe. You won't get mercury poisoning from amalgam fillings. By the way oil pulling is a completely inneffective placebo. It will not prevent caries or cavities or do any "detoxing". Brushing your teeth is the best way to... (more)
Hello! I have been eating Artisana Coconut Butter daily for breakfast for about 2 years. I never really measure how much I use. I keep it cold and flake some off into my greek yogurt. I would estimate that it varies around 1-2 Tbsp. When I conusme... (more)
I swear by coconut oil. I cook everything with it and I am beginning to take a tablespoon of it every night before bed in hopes of it helping my metabolism and digestion. Because it's a MCFA, I hear that somehow your body uses it to burn fat... (more)
Hi, This may sound like a weird question but how do you guys take your daily 3+ tablespoons of coconut oil in front of others/at the office/in public? I wish I could take it throughout the day at the office after breakfast or lunch (to regulate... (more)
Hi, all- I'm new to paleo (although I'm very familiar with low-carb). I'm wondering if anyone knows of a substitute for coconut oil, or perhaps a way to overcome a food intolerance. I ask because, while low-carbing, any snacks I would have... (more)
Just read the most recent update on coconut oil and body fat. The research showed 2 tablespoons coconut oil a day to reach the research results. Does anyone know if the coconut oil needs to be taken throughout the day or is one dose all at once ok? (more)
I wouldn't take it all at once - too much coconut oil, especially if you're just starting, can give you the CRAZY-POOPS. I find it's best to cook with it and just make sure you're getting enough throughout the day.
Just started going 100% paleo (I was pretty close before, eating peanut butter and not eating as much fat as I should before). In my efforts to go full tilt, I ate a heaping spoonful of Coconut oil on an empty stomach as an afternoon snack... (more)
