Hey everyone. I was just wondering about cheat meals and being paleo. I am an active then girl who does paleo mostly 85-90% of the time...but sometimes, im with friends and they will have brownies or icecream and I just have to have some! I'm not trying to loose weight, just maintain and gain as I grow, I'm just worried about being healthy. On Sunday, I had a brownie and tonight I had ice cream, and it is only because I was with friends and i am very very skinny and if I don't eat some, people think I have an eating disorder, and hey, sometimes I just want some sweet food that aren't healthy! I just wanted to ask if it is ok for a teen girl to cheat every once in a while on the paleo diet and still stay healthy. I never overdo my calories though when I have a cheat meal, I just eat less in my meals until my cheat meal. and please don't tell me how bad it is that I do cheat sometimes :/ I know I'm not a perfectly paleo person Thanks!

There's no one paleo diet -- different people do different things depending on what works for them. You're the only one who can decide what you're allowed to do.
If the question is whether an occasional indulgence in sugar or wheat is going to destroy your health, the answer is probably no. Our bodies are resilient and if they're not subjected to a lifetime of abuse, then they can deal with an occasional blood sugar bomb just fine. If you were trying to lose weight then this might slow you down, but it sounds like that's not an issue.
For some people, this approach works. For others, one indulgence leads to another and soon they're entirely off the wagon. Again, you'll have to be aware of which one you are and make your choices accordingly.
If you have specific negative reactions to the things you're indulging in (allergies, gluten intolerance, etc) then the costs are going to be higher. In those cases it might be better to abstain from some things entirely.
Some people recommend that you start out with a very strict version of the paleo diet, and then gradually reintroduce things and see how they affect your health. This can be valuable, but it's not the only way to do it.
you are allowed to do whatever you want! it's your body! only you decide what you are going to eat and what you aren't going to eat.
I love a once a week cheat dinner, I enjoy the food/company and the next morning start right back on Paleo.
