I'm a 19 year old college student struggling with how strict paleo to be, and how much to eat in general. It's pretty hard to be perfect paleo on a meal plan in a college cafeteria - for example, they put milk in all their eggs! :( The... (more)
I see there are many recipes of paleo pancakes, brownies, ice cream, cinnamon rolls (oooh myy, looks soo good..), etc. Is this something you include in your diet, or do you stay away from baking and keep it totally clean?
Hey, I've started to Paleo a few days ago. I'm also training with main lifts such as squats, deadlifts, presses, chins etc. So, want to make a cheat day once a week, prolly saturday or sunday and want to eat pizza, hamburger, kebab,... (more)
Hey everyone, I am a teen girl on the paleo diet, and have been on it for abut 4 months now. I am about 5'1 and 78-80 pounds. I'm not really trying to loose weight, unless you all think I should? I love eating whole, nutritious foods and I love... (more)
Cheating shouldn't stress you out. If you want the ice cream, then eat it. Just don't indulge in the stuff all the time. Isn't there an 80/20 rule?? You can cheat 20% of the time? I'm not sure.
I'm going to an overnight week summer camp and will not be able to eat paleo, should I bring snacks like nuts and stuff and have those instead of sugary granola bars an just have the meals? its my fifth year going but first time paleo lifestyle,... (more)
dude if you're 15 and at summer camp, getting laid should be your priority, not being the point dexter with the organic pate and veggies. Girls >sports>life goals>food
Hey everyone. I was just wondering about cheat meals and being paleo. I am an active then girl who does paleo mostly 85-90% of the time...but sometimes, im with friends and they will have brownies or icecream and I just have to have some! I'm not... (more)
I've been eating a Primal diet for the past 3 years. On my longer stretches without any cheats, I find that my doodoos are not that solid, more like kind of soft and greasy. I'm guessing that it's from the high fat content of my diet. I'm... (more)
This past Saturday I wanted to have a glass of wine with my friend. I have been on paleo for 2 weeks and was feeling great. We'll that one glass of wine turned into a couple glasses and some beer as well :( I also binged on some pretzels and... (more)
After a week of being strictly Paleo, I succumbed to a very delicious looking brownie. My roommate brought home a whole tray over the weekend and I'd been staring at them for days but turning toward fruit instead. In a moment of weakness I... (more)
I've just started the Paleo diet. I started a little less than a month ago (3/18/13). My first two weeks of starting I saw an initial weight gain and then about a week or two ago just started losing and can really tell that I'm losing fat in my... (more)
So i've been following eating paleo for 7 weeks now. I've got the eating part down. I recently in the past 2 weeks added some protein powder and low fat dairy products. So now i'm eating meats, eggs, veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds, oils, sweet... (more)
I'm trying the paleo diet, but I LOVE sushi. I love Boston Rolls without cream cheese... The only thing in that that's not paleo would be the rice... How often would it be okay to cheat and eat this (1x Boston Roll, sans cream cheese), provided... (more)
I started my Paleo lifestyle almost a week ago and I've gone from 183lbs to 178lbs. I plan on sticking with this way of eating for a long time, I definitely feel better about myself already and I don't really have the cravings that I did the first... (more)
Some background: About 5 months ago I had a 1 month long collision with anorexia and bulimia, which turned into 4 months of extreme constant binging and overeating, especially of bready carbs, sugar, and peanut butter (somehow I gained less than 5... (more)
Relax. You appear to be intolerant to gluten and the only thing to do is to eat a normal Paleo diet and give yourself a break. Getting some counseling for your eating concerns/anxiety may be helpful, too.
If you could choose any one food/dish/desert/whatever that you could eat with absolutely no ill effect FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAYS. Rather, no effect whatsoever. No calories, no nothing, what would it be. If I had to choose, definitely... (more)
I've been doing Paleo for almost 2 weeks, and loved the results so far (Yes, I know the 10 pounds I lost the first week was water weight, but still.), today I wasn't in the mood to cook, and decided to let myself go to Subway and get a footlong... (more)
Don't be so hard on yourself. Re-examine your relationship with food. Consider it a "treat" not a "cheat" because you didn't do anything morally wrong, you just ate something that tastes great and has a bad effect on your body. You are suffering... (more)
Ok so I'm fairly new to paleo and have a few questions. I started about two weeks ago after reading Robb Wolf's The Paleo Solution. I haven't noticed a huge difference, although daily headaches which I used to get are gone. I'm not 100%... (more)
I almost ask this as a rhetorical question because I know it's terrible, it's sweet, artificial and it is ohh so cooling. But that's the problem it freshens your breath more than anything else short term. It is far too inconvenient for me to... (more)
I am wondering if anyone here has a cheat meal or cheat day scheduled on a weekly or monthly basis? Or has anyone tried this and felt like it didn't work because it became a slippery slope? Or does anyone just have opinions on scheduling a cheat? (more)
I personally have no luck scheduling cheats. I think it fetishizes the "forbidden" foods too much. I'm much better when I only have "cheats of opportunity": unplanned cheats that just happen because of unforseen circumstances.
I've begun to notice something about my cheat days - they typically seem to cause more weight loss than regular days. I've seen as much as half a kilo drop off (and stay off) after a cheat day whilst plateauing for a while on regular days. I have... (more)
For example you were totally strict on paleo for a year but later you cheated and ate like whole jar of hazelnut cream and ate lots of grains and would do this for a few days and then go back to paleo. Anyone knows how long does it take to get... (more)
After being strict 100% Paleo for around a year now, I went without, any alcohol, any sugar, grains, dairy (all the obvious things) but also no nuts, hardly any fruit etc. I have decided that maybe I try to loosen up a bit. ( I have received... (more)
I've been on a strict Paleo diet for almost 2 years and I'm loving life however if I could have one cheat meal without any consequence I would loveeee a Grilled Cheese!
So here I am armed with the knowledge, the experience and prior paleo results. Yet I continue to sell myself short in regards to very poor food choices and behaviors. Either I have terrible willpower or the power of the foods and their addictive... (more)
