Hello, so I've noticed for the past week or so that I've been having some gas, gurgling in the gut and flatulence. Generally this was happening at night, but it just happened now in the afternoon. I'm wondering if probiotics can cause... (more)
Hmm, so I have a blister on the bottom of my foot that hurts so much that I am thinking it may be infected (I bandaged it early yesterday and haven't looked since 'cause I don't really want to know. . .) This concerns me because I just finished a... (more)
For me, echinacea and goldenseal (sold together in capsule form) works in less than 24 hours whereas antibiotics I have been prescribed always take weeks to work not to mention all the other side effects.
Ok, I don't know what I was thinking (or wasn't thinking), but I ate something the other day that had MSG in it. It was spelled out in the ing list (sausage). I was in a bind and had to eat something. Anyway, it didn't register in my mind as MSG... (more)
I have been off and on paleo for about 1 yr. The longest stretch I have done is 5 weeks and then I throw in the towel, eat everything in the pantry (literally), feel bad about it and a week later am back on paleo. The problem is this is doing... (more)
Anyone else fell nausea after drinking tea, especially on an empty stomach? I handle coffee (black, strong) fine, but cheap conventional tea (i.e. Tetley, Store Brand, etc) really make me feel sick. On the flipside, Stash "teas" (fruity, spices,... (more)
Hello! I just have a little question or two, if anyone may have some ideas. I consume no sugar, grains, legumes, alcohol, caffeine. The problem: Peas (when I had just started primal and found out they were a no-no) Brusselsprouts, Chocolate +... (more)
This may simply be a food intolerance (not necessarily food allergy). Seeing as how you have eliminated them, it shouldn't be an issue but you can get something like an ALCAT food test to really find out
I am back to nearly 100% paleo after falling off the pale wagon at Thanksgiving. (truth be told Thanksgiving 2011). I am keeping carbs in the range of 75g to 100g a day. The only problem I am having is I can't sleep through the night. I fall... (more)
My experience is I need carbs to sleep well. Connection to serotonin production I have read. I am doing the Perfect Health Diet and I sleep better when I eat rice or potatoes at dinner. Oatmeal works really well for me too.
I take 5 capsules of the Now Foods Super Enzymes with each meal. I didnt have any gas on the Paleo diet but now I do. I thought enzymes were supposed to get rid of gas and bloating not cause it? Should I just keep on using them or switch... (more)
I've read that milk products cause excessive mucus production. In my case, I am loathe to give up butter, heavy cream, and hard cheeses (parmesan! cheddar!) but I wonder if this might be for the best in terms of alleviating excess mucus. Has... (more)

I was wondering if anybody gets headaches and nausea after drinking green tea? I recently decided to incorporate it into my intermittent fasts to cut back on coffee consumption. It's just the loose leaf variety (medium priced, not fancy), brewed... (more)
I know I've been a bit of anomaly in what I've experienced on the Paleo diet. My diet was pretty clean before Paleo, so really the only foods Ive added to my diet are different kinds of meat (vegetarian before), and eliminated the rice,... (more)
Back in 2004 I was self diagnosed with Lactose intolerance. I was bad enough off that even a chocolate bar would set off my lactose intolerance. Last year I found out (like most everyone else) that I am gluten intolerant. I did a little digging... (more)
Absolutely, as a matter of fact, gluten, gliadin, and host of other "goodies" found in wheat actually damage the small intestine cells that make the enzyme that digests lactose (called lactase). Its very common to see the return of these cells to... (more)

Quick question regarding dairy. I was following a fairly strict paleo diet for almost two months and I was feeling great (had some cheats, but I'm okay with that). About two weeks ago I started putting heavy cream in my coffee. In the last 10... (more)
Joint pain and fatigue can be symptoms of a dairy allergy. You should eliminate dairy for a while (2-4 weeks), re-introduce it and see if the symptoms return. If you experience something similar, then you most likely have a dairy allergy.
I'm having a weird experience with vitamin c, which took me about a week to put together because it coincided with restarting the paleo diet(I was eating paleo for about two months, quit for a month and restarted about a week ago). I was fatigued... (more)
