What exactly is low carb? And how effective is it? Have you yourself tried low carb? And if so what have your results been?

Sure, I have been toying with paleo since 2006 and have been relatively strict lacto paleo since December. I am in the best shape of my life. I lost weight quickly until I got ( a little lighter than) to my goals. My view is that carbs are needed to fuel performance. If you are working out, you need more carbs (especially post workout). I found it easier to lose weight in the 50g or so range, but needed more carbs post workout to keep increasing the weight in my workouts

I should qualify it...Paleo low carb, No grains, or sugars. No fruit except a small amount of berries.

Low carb is definitely effective in weight loss. My general view is that low carb breaks down to an easier way to avoid neolithic agents of disease.

I eat around 150 grams of carbs a day.
