If you're more defined after eating, especially if it's carbs, it's probably the carbs replenishing muscle glycogen. Water retention also plays a role of course.

Because you're right-handed, it is likely that your right side is more efficient at movements, so your left side requires more muscle to be equally efficient at those movements.

You might also want to try intermittent fasting; eat within a 8-hr window each day (noon to 8pm). During the fast, you might have coconut oil and coffee, which should produce ketones and can accelerate metabolism.
