Bananas are one of the highest in sugar fruits out there! If you want a fruit smoothie in the AM, you should try using berries... And I would use EITHER milk OR yogurt, not both. The avocado is a great addition though!
Hello, I have been belching almost nonstop for quite awhile, believing it to be the result of leaky gut syndrome. I am sure that I have that condition, but yet, the belching doesn't seem to stop. I thought it might be aerophagia, which I am... (more)

Just curious to know whether you guys eat bananas regularly on paleo as a starch source. I don't, not really, 'cause I don't really like how it tastes but I'm looking to alternative starch sources, so... Bananas on paleo. Thoughts?
I love banana and know it is a good choice of nutrients, including potassium. In one book the author spoke of pureeing banana and freezing it. I know how high the carb content is in a banana. Anyone have any thoughts on how to incoorate it on paleo? (more)

So, I was reading on Rob Wolf's website, that (for weight loss) fruit should limited to 1 serving/day. I have a few questions about that idea: Does that seem to be true? What constitutes 1 serving (clearly, I assume 1 small apple, plum, etc. for... (more)
Assuming Wolf actually says this...The utterly absurd notion that more than one piece of fruit a day will "stall weight loss" is a classic example of why some folks refer to paleo-gurus as paleotards.

Are they healthy? Are organic bananas better than non-organic? Especially if the peel is edible? Do the peels have lots of pesticides on them? What else could I use the peels for, if not eaten?
Yes they are edible, and yes they are healthy. I would opt for organic if you want to eat them to avoid the pesticides. If you don't want to eat them you can compost them.
Is there such a thing as developing sudden intolerance to bananas? My wife loves bananas, but has been unable to eat them for a few months without severe gut cramping and a sprint to bathroom with a toddler chasing after her. The other latex... (more)
