Been eating paleo almost two months and have lost weight, feel and look pretty good if I say so myself. Lately when I eat a meal I'm chugging along and quite suddenly I feel uncomfortably full. It happens fast and most of time I am unable to... (more)
Yes! This is very normal and I commend you for being able to avoid letting tradition force you to eat past satiety and eat meals when you're not actually hungry! It's very common for people who go paleo to be able to run on less food, not eat as... (more)
What is the biological/chemical pathway to appetite suppression in the case of hot weather? I can go through a rainy cool week with an increased appetite (separate from the idea of being trapped inside/bored), but as soon as temps break 75 degrees... (more)
This one is for all you big eaters. I've always been a big eater, at least I know I have been over the last ten years or so since I started paying attention to this sort of thing. But I at least know that I was a big eater before I went paleo,... (more)
Since Friday, my appetite has completely disappeared. Food just seems revolting and I can't make myself eat it, even though I'm very hungry. I'm eating a ton of fat (about 80/20), though I'm eating very little carb (I'm eating only animal... (more)
you need more protein. tasty tasty meat. I went too high in fat, didnt feel good, upped protein, went back to superman. A good Sashimi stint or a couple steaks will fix you right up.
Hi I'm a committed Paleo practictioner for several months now. My main purpose is to lose weight, but also to be generally more healthy. I'm 6ft and weigh 230 lbs, so I'm probably about 50lbs over-weight (which is quite shocking to write that... (more)
I've been Paleo for half a year now. The problem is that I tend to overeat with paleo foods compared to when I was on the SAD, where I actually had to force myself to eat enough not to starve. I literally could feel my stomach rumbling and I... (more)
Hi everyone. I'm a paleo-curious ex-vegan who had been kind of "flexitarianism"-ing it for the past year. Typically, I wake up extremely hungry and am totally non-functional until I eat. Then, throughout the day, I typically get hungry every 4... (more)
I am a 26 yo Paleo eating female, about 121 pounds (5'4). I have been trying to implement strength training 3 days a week along with the 2-3 miles of walking I do everyday (walking to and from campus). The problem is that the beautiful regulation... (more)

I have recently experienced how low magnesium can trigger binge attacks. Stress can cause magnesium loss. Epson salt soaks might be a good way to go about it if you can't get the stress reduced.
TLDR? I lack appetite, have some indigestion, slow peristalsis maybe? It's been getting better with Paleo but I want to feel hungry again! What can I do to get hungry and increase my caloric intake? I follow a mostly PHD-inspired diet.... (more)
I just got back from a month and a half long trip across Europe where we backpacked across 6 countries. During this time I was on my feet all day every day. I didn't do any typical 'strength training' per ce, unless you count the backpack strapped... (more)
I'm guessing this is some kind of mechanism to stabilize weight? Should I still eat then even if I'm not hungry? Also, my stomach seems to be permanently distended. What's happening?
I've been at this Paleo thing for about 3 months, now. Since I live in the city, work and go to school, I've never felt the need to go to the gym but I recently started adding in a workout routine. I feel great, except I am pushing the limits of... (more)
I want to try out eating 2 meals per day. I am a female, aged 22, 5'4 and 170 lbs. My main reasons for wanting to do this is because: a) when i tried out the whole30 protocol (clean eating, no snacking, 3 meals a day) this was the best I have... (more)
I asked a question previously on why my appetite diminishes when I go to a place like Bali (which is hotter and more humid than my normal climate where i live as well as my ancestral one - Mediterranean) and was wondering if anyone has had any... (more)
Living in Florida, I tend to eat less in summer time. Eating temporarily raises your metabolism and increases body heat, so of course you'd naturally want to eat cooler foods or less of them altogether when it's hot outside.
20 year old female, still 50+ lbs overweight (although steadily making progress there), otherwise healthy, active college student, been paleo since may. So, since school has started up again I've been constantly busy with homework, classes,... (more)
Sounds fat adapted, I would just be concerned about potential vitamin/mineral deficiencies. If you go by the "set-point" theory, it sounds like since the Whole30 you've got your hormones in check, but realize that your body can down regulate... (more)
Lately my eating plan on work days has been to make my first meal of the day pretty large (time of day varies for this meal, sometimes first thing in the morning, sometimes I don't eat until 10-12) and full of fat and protein. I usually eat... (more)

I have noticed it increases my appetite too. I am not sure why, but I am guessing because the food is being digested properly leaving very little hanging out in your stomach?
I have been eating paleo for about three months now, and have been keeping my carbs to a little less than 50g a day. I lift weights, and my strength coach just put me on a hypercaloric diet which comes out to be about 200 calories above my... (more)

Good news, you don't have a problem. For maximum growth hormone potential, you're not supposed to eat for at least two hours after a workout. (The insulin spike would blunt the growth hormone release.) Keep up the good work!
I suspect the use of Stevia is making me hungry. I know it's been used in South America as an appetite stimulant for cattle. Anyone else hungry after using it? You have to know that I react very sensitive to sugar substitutes. Especially the... (more)
