Hi, I've been eating low carb for about two months. Everything about it is great. I have more energy, not hungry all the time, slimmed down (about 10 lbs, but I wasn't overweight b4).
Then football season started. I'm quite a "day drinker" at games. This year I have only been drinking no carb flavored water (Ice) and vodka. I drink quite a bit, but do not become wasted drunk or have any problems while drinking. I avoid carbs as well (some almonds, etc, but nothing out of the ordinary).
Twice, I've come home after games, not had anything to drink for hours, sometimes even taken a nap, then eaten dinner. First time I had one piece of thin crust pizza. The second time I had just the toppings off of a piece of pizza.
Within an hour of each dinner, I get nauseous, freezing cold, and end up vomiting.
Other info: after drinking while low carbing, I have gotten some hives (2-3 after a night out). I did some reading and decided to try a supplement that has amylase in it. Haven't had a hive since.
Also, I've "cheated" other times without alcohol (ice cream, a cupcake) and no hives, no sickness. There seems to be something with the alcohol earlier in the day.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Vomiting like that is scary. I really like low carb, and want to learn how to make it work with my lifestyle. (I know, I know, the easiest solution is stop drinking!)

Wheat Allergy! I also thought my chronic vomitting, pain, etc was caused by alcohol.
Honestly, the fact that you're cold every time you eat is what would weird me out. Maybe you should introduce back some carbs, but in the form of "safe staches," a la the Jaminets' Perfect Health Diet? Not all paleo is low-carb, and some people don't do well with low carb. Start with sweet potato and make sure you're eating it gently cooked and with healthy fat. Also, I think a lot of people (myself included) just naturally eat too few fats when going low carb. I have to consciously think about getting enough fat into my day.
Do you eat much while you're drinking? I usually don't eat much during the day, and then if I find myself at an event with drinks, I'm like 'woo-hoo.' But sometimes it hits me really hard, and my day-time drink makes me a day-time drunk, which isn't always OK for me (I'm not at football games when it happens...) So if you're working with an empty stomach and having vodka drinks, it may be hitting you harder than you think. And that pizza later in the day might be entering a very irritated stomach.

I've been no carbs for 11 days then had a vodka tonic for work lunch (just one)
Get some slight tummy pains, then go out in evening and have three more and go home. Had a pizza and felt a bit sic k so stopped eating it.
I wake up at 1.30 heaving in my bed, run to the toilet and am savagely sick. Everything comes out.
Then am sick regularly 6/7 times till 8ish.
The last time was the worst I've ever been sick in my life.

Are you drinking ice water or a beverage with ice in it with the pizza when you puke? I have a cold sensitivity, I get hives where I am exposed to cold moisture and If I drink super iced water or like a Slurpee (I don't anymore, that's how I found out!) I'll get nauseous and puke it up. COLD URTICARIA. I just remembered what it's called. Testing for it, hold an ice cube to you skin for a time and see if you welt up. Thanks for the feedback. I never had any food allergies before I went low carb, but I do have some food protein allergies when in cosmetic items (like some Aveeno).
I typically eat pretty well during the football day. Meat and cheese, almonds etc have become a staple at our tailgates.
The weird part, to me, is that I'm completely sober by the time I feel sick. And the chills! I've never experienced anything like that. But since writing this, I've realized that I almost aleays feel cold after eating now. I just grab a sweater at work, and didn't think much of it. But it is always after lunch since going low carb.
