For me, it's fresh raw wild-caught salmon > canned wild-caught salmon > cooked fresh wild-caught salmon. But maybe I just suck at cooking. :p

I don't use any sweeteners. It just gets your body used to tasting sweet. Then you will never get rid of the craving. Now, when I have a piece of fruit it is a real treat - tastes much sweeter because I don't use any sweeteners.

You can eat the bones in canned sardines because they are soft. But in fresh ones, the bones won't be soft. Since you are in Asia, you might see if you can find out what the locals do with fresh sardines. I bet you can get some great recipes.
