This isn't a direct answer, but Gibble's potato chips are cooked in lard. They're based in PA, but are sold in stores here in VA. They even have an explanation on the back of the bag explaining how vegetable oil is made and why they don't use it. (more)

Even with Krohn, you should give a chance to completely sprouted sprouts (no seeds left). Your diet is devoid of enzymes, and sprouts pack enough nutrition that you can eat small amounts of them. They also combat bio-film through enzymatic action. (more)

I go to my local Stew Leonard's and find a bag of in-house made sweet potato chips. The ingredients read: Fresh sweet potatoes, 100% pie soybean oil and salt. I was craving something crunchy. Is this ok or no?

No problem on the sweet potato chips, but problem on the soy oil.  That makes it fall under the crap-in-a-bag category. Find a different brand. Avoid: soy, corn, "vegetable", canola, cottonseed and other industrial seed oils.
